If that EBAY auction is for real, and from the looks of it, it is. That is just BS!!! I agree with Brad, I could care less about giving them the benefit of the doubt. If they are trying to pull this on a car that in six months to year you will be able to get with a rebate because they are building so many of them, god knows what else they will pull.

They are not the only dealership in town!!!!

But hey, who am I to talk, this is a free country. pay as much as want for the darn thing.

I would just, kinda, like, um.......................not buy that one.

Here is a revolution that I have had about Ebay, just recently, after years of of consideration.............EVERYTHING on ebay is sold to make a proffit. Regardless of what anyone pays for anything that is ever sold on this planet, as long as the buyer KNOWS what they are purchasing, it is not a 'rip off'. If you don't want to be the buyer, fine. But why is this dealer all of a sudden a place not to buy a car from? On E-bay you can buy a $5000 matchbox car, or a silly old 60s Mustang with plastic rice parts and an average at best build with grey paint and black stripes for $100,000 if you look hard enough.

While i agree that auctions like this should not be allowed to be posted...

Cars/Houses etc type auctions on ebay work a little different then regular auctions. The buyer is not obligated to actually buy and at that price...WILL NOT BUY once they realize it is in addition to MSRP. The seller is just gonna use the info he gets from potential bidders/buyers and try and sell them other cars.

I don't think this ebay auction justifies such a post like DON'T BUY FROM... nor do I think it needs to be a sticky...

just my 2 cents

These Donkeys Rear ends have two of em:

In the event, you are the highest bidder a $2,500.00 NON REFUNDABLE" deposit will hold the car until it arrives on our lot, which should be within 2-3 weeks. The balance due in full when the car arrives, by cashiers check or money order. Sorry no personal checks! Make all checks payable to "H.D.Auto Sales" In the event, you need to speak to the seller call Mike @ 561-xxx-xxxx or Lenny @ 954-29xxx-xxxx we will be happy to assist you.

True.......I think we all would. Even if I had to wait an extra two months for ANOTHER one to come in.....it'd be worth it.

But - this isn't Joe Johnson off the street selling it, it is a dealer. To me, that just seems like a horrible business practice.

So what? Don't buy that one, I dont get it. Some people brag about how much they paid over sticker, one of my customers got a mercedes convertible she paid $15,000 over for to not have to wait a full year to get it. She loves it. Stroked a check for a limited Escape at sticker too. She loves that one too.

I think the Ebay auction is Wrong and I think those bidders need there head examined.
I think you did the right thing getting the word out and I hope this dealership never sells another car. If it stops one person from dealing with them, thats a good thing IMHO.
Hey, this is the internet, opinions are like rear ends, everybody has one.

The two laws:

1.) Do all you have agreed to do.

2.) Do not encroach on other persons or their property.

It's their money....

Don't worry.
By the time I actually get available to own one- they will be piled up like 04s anyway.
I am no haggler- never have been- I see, I point, I drive it home. BUT I have enough common sense to never pay over sticker. I see no problem paying msrp- for those of us not nervy enough to negotiate, it happens. Over is just silly.
Also in this case, I have decided to buy my OWN car for once(My husband buys my cars for me, he's the best)- So the going is a little tougher. If my business would take off just a hare faster I would be set in a matter of weeks! AND more important, I want to get him a truck first. Preferably a f-150.
Its coming though- and when it does- Oh boy. I won't sleep for a month.

This is a Ford authorized dealer, correct? This isn't Joe Schmo, who thinks his car is worth more than it actually is, and tries to sell it for an inflated price. This is a Ford dealer, who absolutely knows the MSRP, and is trying to price-gouge in a new and unique way, through eBay.

By the way, what happens if Oct. 15 comes, and the car isn't there yet? Do you think they will refund the eBay money, but still hold the car for the auction winner? No. They will expect the eBay payment, regardless of their inventory. So, this "insurance" that you get the car as soon as it comes out, is just a scam. If you don't realize this, then you are the audience they were targeting.

Don't let any dealer get away with charging a premium for these cars!

logics of finance eludes some of these board members, Brad. we pointed these threads out over at FordPower.net a couple weeks ago. i figured someone would have already made reference to them over here.
