Well... the auto is similar in acceleration to the manual, so you can't use the excuse of the manual being faster....
I would get exactly what you want, but that's just me. I think it would be well worth it to wait instead of regretting for a long time to come.
Personally, even though both trannies move the car about the same, I'd go for the manual, simply because I like having full controll of what gear I'm in and when..... and I like to row them myself. If that's what you really want, then wait for it.

For now, it boils down to what is more important to you - IUP or color and transmission. Just me, but that seems like a lot to give up to get the IUP. And most of us believe that Ford will work it's way through this and the IUP will return.

Must be awful tough to decide with that silver beauty sitting there looking back at you! B)

well i got the regional ford manager person calling me later on today to tell me whats gonig on with my order and if i will get the IUP. ill keep everyone posted. the IUP is important to me, not for the my color although thats cool, but for the satin alluminum finished dash. i really like it and i think the car looks plain on the inside without it.

You can always get that in the aftermarket, I think there is a post somewhere, maybe interior mods that has the website for the company that makes those.

Hey Ron, I have a Silver GT w/ drk chrcoal, IUP, 5-speed manual, side bags, spoiler, upgrade wheels, shaker500, Premium Model---It's got 828 miles on it right now. I'll make you a deal: Buy the Silver one at the dealer with auto tranny, drive it for awhile and then lets talk...I'm thinking I made a mistake gatting the manual tranny due to the atlanta traffic and my constant required cell phone use. I would be willing to trade you straight for the silver auto you speak of. It would stink to give up the manual, but I can't just not-work when I'm in my car! I know the Nanuet are well...I grew up in Suffern (Go Mounties) so I feel comfortable traveling up there.

Now that I have given you a NO-RISK situation, does your decision feel a little easier to make?

It's like with women and houses, wait until you can get exactly what you want, otherwise you will end up disappointed someday.

the aftermarket stuff i've seen looks bad compared to the factory IUP...i've been reading about this R package they areoffering now which os giving you most of the IUP stuff (shifter and steering wheel) w/o having to have the my color option...might wanna read some of the other topics or ask your Ford guy about it.....

If there car was exactly how you wanted it I would get it.

Otherwise, you may not be happy with what you get in the end. Waiting just a few short weeks may be hard, but you get the car you want in the end.

You really have to decide what's more important. I gave up on my order and bought off the lot. The options were better, but the color was different. No regrets though. I love it.

Ron...I bought off the lot rather than wait for my Satin Silver. B) Now, three weeks later, I am glad I did.....but I got a color I was very interested in anyway, CO-#1's if you will. TORCH RED......exactly the same as my option pkg. for the Silver. I really enjoy the automatic.....

I lucked out, while waiting for my mustang(Jordan Ford). I was searching dealer inventory online when I found the exact car I had on order. I contacted the dealer(Southway), one week later he called me and told me it just came in. The dealer sold me the car for the same price as the one on order at Jordan, 1000.00 under MSRP. This is the only dealer I know of that are selling inventory under MSRP.I am happy not having to deal with the wait.
