Different types of Hood Pins?
Different types of Hood Pins?
What kind of hood pins is everyone using?
How many different types are there?
I believe I saw some on E-Bay replacing the radiator supports made out of billet alum. Is anyone using these?
I would like to know everyone's likes and/or dislikes.
Any and all info would be much appreciated. I haven't had a problem with the hood coming at speeds, but don't want to start either!
Thanks

I am using the Shelby GT hood pins, and I really like them! They come with brackets for mounting and I really like the location of the pins...
but, it's a cosmetic thing for me, and ease of installation made them an ideal choice.
a bit expensive for hood-pins
Thanks guys, the ones using the Shelby pins, could you please post a picture of the brackets that are mentioned so I can see how they are attached?
I see there is a couple different styles of the Shelby pins. One is with the flat metal plate on top of the hood and one with a billet plate on top of the hood. The one with the billet looks pretty nice.
Please post some pics of the brackets attached to the car.
Thanks again

I'll have to see if I have a pic of the bracket... I think I do on my other computer... You either have to cut the radiator cover or you can buy the pre-cut one from Shelby to put the brackets on... They use the Radiator mounts to attach to the car...
I have aerocatch hood pins.(on my car and on my website) they are flush mount design that has no lanyards and are totally made of paintable composite material so there's nothing to scratch or rust.
the install isn't too hard but it definitely is something that should be done by one who is comfortable with a drill and saw.
here's a pic installed:

Mark , here's a couple of pics , in the first one the bracket next to the hood prop rod is what the pin locks into ... I see you're local , I had them installed by 1st Class auto there in Pompano. They do all the work for Steeda and do a good job ...
I had FRPP pins in my hood before my last accident. Afterwards, I just put the appearance pins on until I get an SC and another hood. I liked the look but didnt want to go through the hassle again after the accident of getting them installed.
