Yep that is the same set I have!!!! Well I guess that settles it... I will post up some pics and what I think after they're on. But w/ engine issues it may take a bit b4 they go on.

Btw, are you running stock on the Back???

Stock calipers, got the Roush TrackPak rear rotors, slotted so look similar to front, and currently w/ EBC yellows all around, though that may change

So you have stock calipers in back??? If so what size are the Roush rotors in back? Where can I get them (I guess roush website, duh) or is there a better place? Can you throw me a link so I can possibly order some so I can get a consistent Look... Remember the Sex Appeal...

There are a few low-cost rear caliper upgrades, but most just use stock or go all-out with 6 or 4 piston all the way around. I've ground down some rear brake pads pretty well so know they're doing some good on the track. The biggest issue is integration of the parking brake.

Here's the rotors:

I'm sorry for all my Ridiculous Newb question... But, Why do you need to grind them down? Why and What kind of issues do you have with the parking brake???

I mean I've completely worn away the stock rear brake pads on the track when the fronts (StopTech) are holding up fine. Might imply need for a better rear setup, but the balance feels perfect now. The rear stock calipers have an integrated parking brake, the aftermarket ones don't always.

I looked into the Steeda 13" rear brake upgrade (about $500 for the package) and found out you have to remove the axles to install it, I think due to new spindles. I wasn't ready to do that so went this route instead. Maybe if I ever put in a better differential I'd do it, or if you're swapping gears that'd be easy, too.

Gotcha, that makes sense! So you said you don't like the EBC's that much??? Why?

Well for the StopTech kits they don't quite fit. They were made to the Porsche 911/928/944 spec that Porsche consolidate in 1995. The StopTech was made to the original unconsolidated spec, which is just barely narrower and less thick. My first set I was pounding with a rubber mallet to get them in. Finally realized it from this:

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/faqs.shtml#20

So the yellow ones I ground down the bit of extra width, and they fit much easier.

Hahahaha, I don't mean to laugh at all but I can only imagine someone sitting there pounding away at these pads and yelling "Why the frick aren't these stupid things going in?"... Gotcha, so would something like I guess Hawks??? Reliable???

For the track I'm running Hawk DTC70 on the fronts and Hawk HT10 on the rear...seeing very even wear on the pads when comparing front and rear. I am also using stock calipers with the Roush slotted rear rotors......working out very well so far.

That's what I'm going to next season, although was planning on the DTC60s rear. Maybe I'll think of the HT10s now, though.

The Hawk pads fit the StopTech calipers perfectly, I got some Blue 9012s to clean the rotors (the StopTech brand pads gave horrible pad deposition, at least after I used the EBCs and didn't clean them. Folklore is to use the same company pads to avoid this 'incompatibility' problem).
They fit the stock brakes perfectly as well.

Probably go to the Hawk HPS for the street. Did like the RedStuff compound, though, so little dust, no noise, good bite.

A buddy of mine, that I do track events with all the time, uses the DTC70 pads up front and the DTC60 pads in the rear....honestly, neither of us can tell much difference at all in the feel of the braking, brake dust produced, wear, heat, etc. And, our cars are pretty much identical in all other respects. I went with the DTC70 and HT10 combination, because that is what Roush equipped the Trak Paks with....but from what I've seen with my friend's car, the DTC60 pads seem to work just as well.

On TireRack the HT10s are $140 for the rear, DTC60s for $146, so not much difference there either.

From looking at Hawk's site, the HTs are the older formulation, the DTC are the new ones. But I think they keep the HT10s around because they're so popular.

That could well be. In the end, I don't think you would go wrong with using either one, or one over the other.

Think I'll go DTCs all around as they're a black backing, the HT10s are blue backing, as are my 9012s I use for cleaning the rotors. Knowing me I'd get confused which is which.

Thanks for sharing your experience, though -- always helps seeing how everyone else is approaching it.

Yep...no problem....I like exchanging info as well. I'm certainly not an expert at any of this, but I don't mind sharing my personal experience and knowledge about stuff....and I kind of figure that is what is best about forums like this.

Have you ever done any tracking at High Plains Raceway, east of Denver about 50 miles? I was there in September for a weekend road course track event. 3 of us trailered our cars from Iowa and met up with 2 more friends with Roush Mustangs...one from Parker and one from Loveland. The track weekend was sponsored by the Porsche club out of Denver. It was 5 Mustangs and about 100 Porsches...or would that be Porschi...LOL. Anyway, they were nice enough to us and it was fun passing some cars that were WAAAAAYYYY more expensive than ours were. Do you belong to any Mustang clubs that might run or do weekends at HPR? Loved the track and we'd like to come back soon...but it would be nice to be running with other Mustangs....it would be a nice incentive to try to come back there next year. If you look in the Alloy color section, here in the 05-09 forum section, I posted a few photos from when I was there last month.

You mean this High Plains Raceway??

That's one of the main tracks for NASA Rocky Mountain region.

Here's the NASA info:

http://www.nasarockymountain.com/nas...splay.php?f=88

I only made the May 29th one this year, the August 21st was an add-on and I already had plans. Love the track, though, it's about 30 minutes east of where my parents live, so I trek out there and crash at their place, a lot cheaper that way.

They're announcing the schedule for NASA RM on 11/6 at the awards banquet, hoping for two full weekends next summer. We also do Pueblo, PPIR in Fountain, Hastings Nebraska (never been, hopefully will next year), one in Kansas (never been), and one in Oklahoma (never been).
