Has anyone heard what, if any, Mustang concepts might be at the Detroit show? I was thinking that Ford might use the LA show to debut the Mustang vert, and have it at Detroit also. The other thread about the new SVT said it would show up at Detroit in 2006. Would that be the production version? Might we see a concept at Detroit '05? I hope so.

We'll see the convertible, but I don't expect much else.

Ford will probably finally reveal to the world the first SE model and the Cobra. We all know the Cobra wont be an SE and we also know that its supposed to come out sometime in 2006 so it would make some sence to build up hype for it soon. Not sure what form we will be seeing but I'm sure they will show us at least 1 new design for the Stang. Lets not forget the Mustang is North America's Pony car, and Ford's little baby. They wont go through Detriot without showing us something.

Who know's though, maybe they might release to the world the two Shelby editions. Afterall we all know that Carrol and his boys over at Shelby America were given two Mustang GT's. Maybe it is Possible that we will see them since they weren't at SEMA. But who really know's...

IMO, I'm not sure we'll see the new Cobra until the 2006 NAIAS but I sure hope I'm wrong! I do think we'll see one more new concept than the Vert but I'm wagering it will be an SE, such as a Bullitt or possibly a Boss, something that would be easy to do with trim options and adding a few extra HP (5-15) with some minor tweaking.

And, it would not be unlikely to see the new Cobra if only to allow Ford to use the show to see if the "IF we build it, will they come?" question can be answered - very similar strategy to what Dodge used when bringing out the Viper. The amount of hype and excitement could be used to determine how soon the car should be brought to market. Just a guess, but I think it's a good one.

Either way, I am betting we'll see more than the Vert in Detroit come January.

Well I'm pretty darn sure we wont be seeing a Boss from Ford anytime soon because Ford doesn't own the rights to the name anymores. Instead we will most likely see the next Mach 1 (same thing basically as a Boss).

??? I thought this had been thoroughly discussed and it was determined that Ford did have the rights. That was why the Shinoda car was a Boss Shinoda. This is just remembering from a long time ago, not facts.

It's hard to beat a dead horse without arms or legs. I guess they have to eat it.

I read in one of the major Car magazines (cant remember which one) that we should expect to see a Shelby Mustang at the Autoshow this year. That could be the SE that we will see. Who knows though. OR is that totally up to SHELBY to do that?
