Ok, I am rather upset. I called my dealer to find out why in the world I don't have a VIN yet. After a lot of humming and hawing he finally gave in and this was his reason.

They ordered 4 mustang. 1 GT and V6 for the showroom, my GT and a V6 for the other guy. They still have 5 2004's on the lot. They have a bad feeling they will not be able to sell the 04's if people see me driving around in my 05 GT. Give me a break. He then said they will get their "Showroom cars" before the end of October and will not get mine until end of November or December. I reminded him he said he was afraid they couldn't sell the 04's if I was driving an 05. How are they going to sell them if they have 05's in the showroom. He replied, we want to tell customers they need to place orders and they won't get them for 6 months and then try to push the 04's. I kept telling him his story doesn't make sense. If I get mine in November that shows customers that they are available and they don't have to wait 6 months. I then reminded him that nothing is stopping me from going to another dealer, buying one and then driving through his lot everyday once I get it just to show people they are being scammed.

Tonight I will be going to another dealer to see if they can get me one in before the end of November. Nothing worst than getting a new Mustang while it is snowing. :bang:

I would call Ford Corporate and complain, that is such BS. They may be able to shift your existing order to another dealer so you do not have to wait longer. Please post the name of the offending dealer so that others may avoid the bum.

At this time I will not release the name of the dealership until I resolve the issue with another dealer or with FORD corporate. I just can't get over the nerve of the dealership.

Since you don't seem to be looking forward to driving in the snow, why not wait until next spring to order your Mustang? Say you wait 6 months...

There may be a rebate by then, so you'll save big bucks.

You'll have avoided 6 months of high insurance premiums so you'll save big bucks.

You'll get to drive your new car for a long time before the weather gets bad.

I don't mean to pick on you personally, but I don't understand why anyone wouldn't wait until spring.

Well, I can't speak for him but personally, my nerves would be shot. Seeing all those Mustangs running around on good driving days between snows.

The reason I can't wait until spring is because I already sold my Jeep (guy picks it up at the end of the month) which means I will have no wheels until the Mustang arrives. I most likely will end up buying a beater or a rental but these are things I did not plan on.

I am already getting the X-plan so I can't see rebates making that big of a difference.

As far as high insurance premiums, not sure it is the same in Canada. I have never been hit with high premiums when it is a new model.

Then it comes down to the fact that I am an impatient person and asking me to wait 6 months is like asking an anorexic to eat at a fast food joint then go out for a piece of cake and icecream without getting sick. It just isn't going to happen.

That dealerships comments are the reason why people switch brands. I would go to Ford and tell them you expected your order to be put in like thousands of other peoples were around the country by good dealerships. If they don't help you out I'd like to hear about it on here. If you can get another dealership to help you out and get the car soon, I'd do it and then make sure I drove up and down the street in front of the other dealership EVERY day for about an hour or so, more people see it then if you drove it around his lot. Lunchtime is always good.

Yep, I can get rather evil.

Too bad we can't order cars like we can order just about everything else, order it through Ford online and have it shipped to our doorstep, skip dealers all together, oh wait, that will never happen, it makes too much sense.

Tell Ford corporate that you would like to have it, before the winter, so you can keep the salt off of it.

You have to go above your dealer on this one. Didn't you place your order way back when? Unreal.

I wouldn't give them any more chances. I would Order from another dealer and still complain to Ford. If you get it from them, then they will feel what they did is right. The only message they will understand is a lost sale.

Yep, that is a total crock of crap!! I feel for you and I hope this resolves to your benefit. From what I've read Ford Coporate is probably not going to be of much help. I remember reading someone that posted saying that they said "everything" was a dealership issue. Good Luck to you.

No dealer cares about having to sell the remaining 04s. With rebates they will sell both. The new 05 actually makes it EASIER to sell cars of the prior year with big rebates.

Ya, I placed my order on May 25th because they wouldn't let me place it sooner.
