Yes, gentle with the heat and then use some goo gone or WD40 and wipe away the adhesive.

I removed mine before I got home on day of purchase. I told them I would leave it if they would pay for the advertising space but they didn't think that was a good idea...

Surprised the dealer didnt take care of that for you as part of delivery prep.

Anyway, Windex works wonders - softens the glue right up. Also works for removing the glue left behind when you have to peel off tint due to a ticket for tinted windows

Exactly Page. Whenever I sell anyone a Mustang (or any car for that matter), if they ask me to not put one on, I specifically write on the detail sheet, NO DEALER STICKER. I don't even have one on my car (would look out of place with my ducktail, (though I do have the license plate bracket).

When I brought my GT home, I tried taking the dealer "sticker" off the back edge of the trunk lid, though, it was one that was a soft plastic emblem type not a sticker, per se. As I was slowly peeling it back at the edges it suddenly went...rrrrrip..pop and came off instantly. I looked at where it was and yelled F*&K! The paint had come off with the glue, I thought with my heart pounding. I then looked at the back of the dealer emblem but didn't see any paint. Then I realized that I was looking at the residual glue that was still adhearing to the trunk. Whew, that was close. Luckily it didn't pull the paint off of it. You could say that I got a scare and learned a lesson all in one. Next new car I'll use one of the methods you guys mentioned. That kind of adrenalin rush, I do not need.

i just peeled mine off by hand. no blow dryer or anything. at first i was going to have "someone" do it for me but i just tested myself by peeling off the comma in the dealers name and voila it came right off. now when i see someone with a mustang still sporting the dealers sticker (and godfirbid plate frame) i just shake my head

You can also use strong fishing line and work it in a sawing motion to get the sticker off. Then goo gone.

I just started pulling it from the corner real slow and it came off. I did order mine and picked it up right away. So the sticker hadn't been on more then a couple weeks

I always have to laugh at those people that put the liscense plate frame back over their actual plate...especially the really cruddy plastic ones, haha. Looking at some of those people, I begin to wonder if they know the plate can stay on there without the frame.

I have talked to those people in my experiences selling cars.
They actually are afraid to tamper with anything on the car for fear it will damage the vehicle.
Myself I don't tell the dealer anything about the stickers because I have been taking them off for decades.
I did intimidate my local dealer enough when I told them not to drill the front bumper for the plate that they were afraid to even think about stickers.
My car proudly wears a sticker from NASHUA FORD (even though the place closed 10 years ago).

Tell the dealer to take it off, or better yet, tell them not to even think about putting one on...

If those don't work, I peeled the dealer sticker right off of my wife's wuss-u-vee by hand, just pulling slowing and carefully. A quick scrub with bare hand and the remaining adhesive came off as well...

When I ordered mine I told the sales guy that I didn't want the dealer sticker on my car but in return for not sticking it on I took some of his cards and told him I would stick his card on my windows at any shows I went to for a period of 1 year and would give the dealership info to anyone that asked...win-win for everyone You can't buy good publicity like that--and I didn't have to deal with taking it off!

The 'dealer sticker delete' was part of my purchase!

We'll see if they held to the terms when I pick her up tonight.

grab a 50lb sledge and that sucker will fall right off..along with any pesky body part attached to it

seriously when i factory ordered mine i told him you put anything on my car and you can keep it lol

the ONLY thing allowed on my car is my ford logo, mustang club of america sticker, and the UAW built with pride window vinyl.
