Deal or no deal?

ALright, I found a 2005 which I believe to be is a great deal, please tell me if I should go for it.

The car is a 2005, color is satin silver metallic, 10,294 miles, has interior upgrade package, looks like tis in good condition, Gt, stick shift. He wants $22,498 for it. It says certified pre-owned. What do you think?

That price is too steep for a 2005 IMHO. I just sold a used 2007 GT Manual, with PTP, AAT, IUP, Side Bags, with only 9,700 miles, WITH a Ford 6/60K Premium ESP included from previous owner for $23,350! That car was MINT (it was owned by my friend from the club. He traded that plus his '03 Diesel for an '06 Diesel Crew 4X4). This guy wants way too much for a 2005! If he were to sell it for around $20,000, then the price is more realistic.

Plug the info into nada.com and offer $300 - $400 over clean trade in. Based on the little info offered I searched for a '05 GT w/ the mileage listed, leather and shaker 500 and came up w/ $20,225 in my zip. I would expect to pay $20,600 or so for that car.

This is all true as listed above. One thing you didn't mention was if had beem modded or was straight stock. With a car that age, if it had custom wheels/tires, CAI, Custom paint, whatever...may be worth more....but all cars (Mustangs hold better value than most) depreciate at the same rate so I would sure keep that in mind...

For comparison - I bought a used '06 GT this past august from a dealer for $20,300. 8K miles, IUP, no other upgrades, certified preowned. They were asking $22,988. I traded an '05 v6 and got $1K less than nada trade value, so I guess I really paid $21,300 for the '06.

I'll be selling it or trading it in March to order an '08 (because I am a sick individual!) - interested?

Uhm I definetly will try and knock the price down in negotiations there is no doubt about that. Nada.com is telling me he is actually a couple hundred under the price. I also looked up my trade in value its right where i wanted it so I am happy about that. I will let everyone know whether or not I got it on Saturday. Thanks for the help.

I sold my 2005 Gt with 5k worth of mods, they actually offered me 3200 more to keep the car as is. They offered me 16,000 and 19, 200 for the car as is and I think I was lucky to get it. I had 53k miles.

Yeah weird, I know. I was at the dealer for service on my '05 v6 for what seemed like the 20'th time and I finally got ****ed and decided it would be easier to just get a new dang car than to get it fixed right. I was looking at v6's but saw the '06 GT. After test driving it a couple times the monster was created and there was no way I was going back to a v6, so I bought it.

Now I am addicted like mad and want to order a GT the way I want it. Why? Because it's MY MUSTANG and I want it MY WAY, that's why LOL!!

Really I should have just bought a new GT instead of the used one but it just didn't happen that way.
