On Dash Info Center

I got a 2007GT/CS Vert a week ago, with the comfort package, but without the IUP. I see as the option with the Interior upgrade package you get the MyColor dash. In my mustang I did not even get an Info Center on mine, it does not even tell me my mpg, etc. all I have is ODO. I thought the info center was standard on at least a GT/CS. Anyone know about this??

I believe its only with IUP regardless of V6-GT-or GT/CS!

I don't think I've ever seen a GT/CS *without* the IUP package - you could have a rare car there!

It is an IUP feature.

Too bad, you are missing out on a whole bunch of inaccurate information, and the worlds most annoying low fuel warning system. It starts beeping '50 miles to empty' when you have about 75 miles left to go and reminds you about every 4 miles after that.

Thanks Kevin... Guess I feel a little bit better about not having it now! It just so anoying trying to figure out my MPG. Just thought something like that would come standard on a car that costs almost 40k.

No IUP? It's only $460! With it the interior still looks cheap... but without it.... it's fugly and super cheap! You'll regret not getting IUPd for sure.

You can't for $460. IUP center have idiot gauges and other bells and whistles, but still... I'd never get car without it. MyColor is a nice feature too.

Well his car sounds fine to me. Do you have the premium trim and comfort groups?

I did like the look of the IUP aluminum dash, but I really got it for the Message Center thingy.

Remember when the 2005 first came out, Ford had grossly underestimated the percentage of buyers who would get the IUP option, and they ran out of parts? I think they estimated something like 20% would get IUP, but it turned out to be more like 80%... so basically a lot of car orders were on hold for a couple months while they waited for parts.

Actually they were on hold because they infringed on a guys patent for the MyColor dash feature. He sued Ford and they had to stop making it until they worked out a deal.

Nope, it was back in 04. I ordered mine in late January of 05 and it was almost worked out by then. My car took 9 weeks from order date to arrival, so that was pretty much taken care of by early 05. That was the worst November, December of my life. Ready to pull the trigger on my car and some moron starts yelling patent infringment. But yes, Ford also underestimated the response on IUP requests, so they had parts shortages as well.

I did not get the IUP.... because the car I purchased was a Demo car for the dealership...had 2k miles on it from the owner of the dealership. I wish it would have had it, I like the look of the stearing wheel and shifter a lot better with the IUP and I have had a lot of German cars and I miss the blue and red guages, so MyColor would have been nice. Yes I do have the comfort package. Not like I use heated seats a lot in Tampa,FL, but comes in handy when you have a sore back! Possibly looking to get the Factory Nav added now.

Well you *can* get the IUP cluster added to your car, many people on the boards here have had it done. Cost is around $400 and it works great - I had it done on my car in fact, works great.

If you add that cluster, does it come with the Three "Info" buttons for the left hand side of the Dash??

I ordered mine in late 04 and had a build date of 12-20-04 with the IUP. The way I understand it is that the early cars could get it then there was about 2 months that you could not get it. I think mine was made in one of the last weeks they put in the IUP for a few months.
