Got mine at X-Plan with no issues. Ordered 1/30, DORA 2/4, Can't wait. Dealer says build is 3/22 - But car will be here by 4/22...
Where are you located? I am looking for a dealership in the SC, NC or GA area that I can work with.

Thanks,

Ordered a 2005 GT Convertible (Mineral Gray/Charcoal) for my wife on 2/9 with IUP, anti-theft, soft boot, and wheel locks under the X-plan (Ford Supplier), which is basically invoice. It should be here the end of April or begining of May. Since I live in the Northeast, I can wait for the snow to melt.

EK
Ekessler,

Did your dealer give you a hard time about the X-plan price? I am eligible for that plan and was wondering if they were particular about giving you that price. One dealer I spoke to told me they would not participate with the X-plan on a new GT unless it was special order. Instock units were out of the question.

My dealer said the same thing. No X-Plan out of stock, but took my order at X-Plan.

Hey y'all. I'm new to the forum & this thread was just what I was looking for. I ordered a GT in Jan, then after seeing the commercial during the Superbowl I went back to my dealer & asked to change my order to a GT convertible. Fortunately he was very accommodating & even kept the X plan discount. For now all I know about the deliv date is sometime in June, I really haven't pressed any further.

Just picked up my vert today that I ordered in November. Sales Manager told me it was the first and only GT vert they would be getting this model year.

They were not able to order any more GT's at all coupes or verts for 05.

Got the call today! She is in and waiting to be picked up! A little ahead of schedule, I was expecting it to ship today. So, ordered at the dealer 1/30 delivered 3/22 about 50 day turn. I'll post pics on the pic thread this weekend.

I ordered a GT vert on 3-4-05. The dealership told us 8 - 12 weeks. Last week we spoke to the salesperson to change the color from Silver to Redfire Metallic. He said that would not delay the order. But he went on to say because of the demand, if we were able to get a '05 it would be late summer. Otherwise they would fulfil the order with an '06. I called Ford customer service. They said the car is scheduled and awaiting to be submitted to the plant (as of 3-26-05). They have no built date yet. They said that the 8-12 week build time is still reasonable to complete the order. I don't know who to believe. There are a few GT converibles available in my area but none with the color or options that I am looking for. Does any know who to believe (the dealership or ford) and if the 8-12 week time frame is possilbe? Also if does anyone know if the order is waiting to be submitted to the plant by Ford will it be fulfiled for an '05?

I was in Hilton Head SC this past weekend. There is a dealership there called by OC Welch that has more GTs (convertibles and Coupes) than anywhere I have seen. The only problem is apparently no one in that area can drive a manual. They are almost all automatic transmissions.

Alycat64,
I know it is tough to know who tho believe. I was told an almost indentical story by my dealer. I ordered on 1/8/05 and received mine baby on 3/18/05. I heard the same thing about it not being built until late summer and it may be so late that it will be an 06. I would believe Ford Customer Service if I were you. Do you have the 1 800 Number to call and check it out yourself?? I will not post it here but if you PM me I will give it to you. When mine car was scheduled like your it was built within 3 weeks. If you scroll back a little in the thread you will see pictures of her. I really like my dealer but I informed them of when the pricing came out and told them what the status of my car was on a weekly basis using the 1 800 number. PM me and I will tell you how to track it yourself. Then you can make up your mind on what to do.
