My 2006 GT is pushing 130k miles. I've already done a complete shock & strut replacement about 6 months ago. I'm considering new control arms for my next upgrade. Has anyone done this? Do you recommend? I do get a lot of bounce over certain bumpy roads when I accelerate & these are supposed to alleviate that problem.

 

Not sure why your getting bounce after replacing the shocks and struts, they should be controling the bounce. If you have alot of body role, your looking at replacing the sway bar or atleast the bushings. As for control arms, they are good for tightening up the front end.

+1 on the GT500 control arms up front. It's not that bad a job, although loosening the steering rack is a royal pain in the butt. Two 18MM bolts in a really *really* bad location. Perhaps you can not need that to happen... Excepting that, and getting the ball joint loosened off the old one, it's a real easy swap and well worth it.

What shocks/struts did you put on? Might explain the bouncin'.

 

They were Koni shocks & struts. Not the best I'm sure but better then the 120k mile stock stuff I was riding on. I also went from 17" to 19" wheels which could contribute to the ride.

 

make sure you save the receipt for your S/S. Life time warranty only through Koni and you need your original receipt.

 

Depends on which Koni's.. If their the orange STR.Ts, then I agree as they've been known for having inferior quality issues, thanks to being manufactured in Mexico..

The Koni adjustable sport yellow's on the other hand, are much better quality that are made in Holland..
