Watchin the superbowl, i count 3 times the commercial for the convertible on! Great time to put them on in the first half when a team called a timeout, but def upset over the lost of the eagles, I thought the could of won it, but hey, we def put up a good fight, but the partriots deserve it........... The commercial made my day in the beginning, but driving home in the pony past a bar and seeing a N.E. patriot fan getting stomped by like 5 eagles fans were amazing! hahaha, I luv drunken fights....... Anyone else see the commercial??

Ford should have played anthem and cornfield too. who wants to watch the same commercial tree times? I sure don't.

 

Still trying to decide if I like the commercial or not. Of course the car looked awesome.

 

like it or not, you had to know that was a dead guy in the car!, kinda creepy really...or when it gets warmer he wakes up and says "WOW what a ride!"

 

Not much to it, wanted to see an icey burnout or something. Best part was the rumble of the V8

We had friends over, they are always giving me hades for my "hot dang yellow car". So naturally the commercial comes on and I am like "quiet quiet" and remember they are still nursing sore heads from the night before( I was good, I played the DD)......

Priceless comment: Well Ford must build some pretty crappy mustangs, the heater don't even work and the headlight is burned out.

 

Good commercial, but I agree, the cornfield commercial, and especially the one with the solider coming home, and his dad buying him a new Mustang...........that one is priceless, and people would have walked away talking about that one for sure.

Either way.......3 times is good.

Did anyone see the FORD TRUCK commercial with the bikers rolling up to a bar and having seen all the black FORD TRUCKS parks outside.....the bikers don't want to go in...............that was GREAT!!!

I too wished they had played all three commercials for the Mustang, especially since I have yet to see "Anthem" on television.

I think though, that with showing the vert commercial three times, as well as those little, "brought to you by the new 05 mustang convertible" things, the message came accross as Ford being a huge sponsor.

I think all-in-all the Mustang got about 6 mentions, not bad.

It still would have been cool to have three commercials all for the 05....

 

The commercial with the soldier coming home and his dad buys him a new Mustang was a promo to kind of tie in with the NBC show 'American Dreams'. I think that's why it wasn't shown. Nothing about the commercial specifically mentioned or referred to the show, so yes, they could have probably used it for the Super Bowl as well. But that's my guess as to why they didn't. If I remember right, they say before or after the commercial "Brought to you by Ford and NBC" or something like that too. :scratch:

I too would have liked to see the cornfield and especially the Anthem commercials. The Anthem one could have been played right before kick off. Almost like the Mustang was singing the Anthem. That would have been cool and patriotic for a rather "nationaly significant" game.

 

Dumb commercial. Millions of $$$ down the toilet.

I agree w/ Ponygirl, the Ford Truck commercial was great! Except, what kind of car was the family driving? Didn't look like any of the new Ford products.

Didn't like the Mustang commercial too much. The car looked as good as it could with ice on it, but they could have done much better. I don't think that built much anticipation for the general public.

 

Who runs the heater with the top down? That takes the point out of having a convertible, now that is the stupid thing not that Ford can't build a car with a good heater, maybe its time to start looking for some new friends, sounds like your hanging with some Honda people. JK. I thought it was a cool commercial and a good excuse for Ford as to why they havent already gotten these things out there, clever little tag line about waiting until spring because a convertible in winter is just dumb and all. But why did they show it twice within 5 minutes at the half time. The second time I saw it I thought they had some alternate ending to make it funny or something. Ford even promoted during the half time show on the Simpsons.

 

Didn't like the commercial...first thing I thought of was the old Acronym for F O R D..Found On Road Dead...
