If you can try to keep your focus and buy the cobra. comon how much will you really get out of the focus. That way you can drive either or just drive the focus on crappy days!!!

If I was lucky enough to work at SVT building Cobras, or to be on the engineering team, I would be pretty dissapointed to hear that someone bought one of them to baby it and waste all of my hard work. Buy the car you want, then drive it the way you want. It's only a car! :yes:

Very VERY few cars made since 1977 have appreciated. Certainly almost NO mass produced car from the post 1976 period is "collectable".

The thought of buying a Mustang, even a special edition, and trying to save it in order to make money on it seems rather silly.

Buy a Mustang or a Cobra or whatever turns your crank, and drive it as much as your wallet and your comfort level allow.

It's a car, not a freakin' doll house!

They cost more now in absolute dollars than they did brand new, but if you compare the price with inflation factored in, they still depreciated. Invest in the stock market to make a good return, buy a car to have fun.

It's good to hear that I am in the majority when it comes to gettin all you can out of your car....now I just have to work my butt off for a year or so and save up.....the day I drive that bad boy off the lot is gonna be sweet!!! Thanks for the input guys

Not exactly true...

If you had a factory fresh (as-new, never repainted, etc) 1965 mustang, it would be worth about $20K right now (plus or minus). I' not talking about a car with 40 years of wear and tear, I'm talking about "as new".

Well, get out your calculator. $3000 in 1965 is less than $20K today (it's about $18K).

But you have a point... you aren't making any real money on sittings on that car.

On the other hand, a '68 Roadrunner Hemi.... that's a $3500 car in 1968, and a $100K car if it's all original, as new today....



Won't find any classic Hondas, though.

ok, now that we know about a regular cobra....what does everybody think of a mystichrome? Do you use that as a daily driver as well? I have personally never seen a mysti with more than 1000 miles.

At this point I'd say the mystichrome doesn't have any more value than a regular Cobra. Maybe a tiny bit more, but not enough to worry about. There's at least five in the local area that I can buy for invoice, that have been on the lots for months now. So even 1 out of 1000 isn't enough incentive to blow $36k.

I almost bought a mysticrome but I could not get out of my lease and did not want to have top pay for two cars but I drove a cobra and it beats the heck out of my bmw. But speaking about current 03-04 cobras do you guys tink i will be better off holding off and get what ever 2006MY I can get at the 35k price tag or I should get a current cobra? Both looks and performance wise?

Mine is the daily driver and has 1,200 miles. Not to the level of a black Cobra, but it does look imposing. The sacrificial lamb was a gorgeous black Mach 1, which I loved and hated to trade in, but had no choice and don't regret it.

I didn't like the seat inserts on the Cobra or the 10th Anniversary edition, and was concerned about the Cobras' shortcomings of the past, but this one is very nice. I received a certificate stating it was defect free leaving the Dearborn Assembly Plant, and that was encouraging and a factor on buying it. The performance and handling is exceptional, althought it needs is the Borla catback. The one negative is the attention it gets.

It is your money, drive it or baby it ,you chose, Ill drive mine when I want to, however no rain no winters no grocery stores, some may disagree but its your car and your money so enjoy your Cobra in the manner you see fit.
