"I can say the 2005 is a winner, if you compare its handling characteristics to the latest models you will be surprised that it handles even better than an IRS Cobra. Ford did a great job by improving the rear solid axle suspension to exceed the higher priced SVT IRS."

In the end they're just numbers either way. Neither the slalom nor the skidpad compare well to real life.
I can't wait to see what Ford does with the next Cobra. I'm saving my pennies...

He started identical threads here and on StangNet, which look to be designed to illicit a reaction from anyone who has or likes Cobras. That's a troll in my book . He is trying to spread hate amonst all Stang enthusiasts, and for that I'd like to hang him by his toenails.
/frustrated by people who have to bash everyone else's car

I had a chance to take an '05 GT for a spin. No doubt it is greatly improved over the preceeding gen. IMO, it is not quite to the late model Cobra standard as far as handling, or performance which it's obvious. As mentioned in the article, wider wheels, tires, and a few suspension mods, it might be a different story. If those mods make it handle as good as the Cobra or better, then it is great news for the Mustang fans.

Come on guys, be adult. Just because someone thinks that something is "interesting" and posts it -- like that he read something that implied that the 2005 was better in handling than the cobra, doesn't make him either a troll or a flamer. But your responses may mean that you are being overly sensitive. Look he's probably wrong. But unless you know otherwise, it appears to be an honest mistake that he's sincerely repeating, not creating misinformation. Give people the benefit of the doubt. And it is likely true that the 2005 GT is CLOSER in handling to a Cobra than previous versions. (Which bodes well for the 2007 cobra).

While not behind the wheel, driving as a passenger gave me a chance to concentrate more on the car behavior and less on driving it
if you compare its handling characteristics to the latest models you will be surprised that it handles even better than an IRS Cobra. Ford did a great job by improving the rear solid axle suspension to exceed the higher priced SVT IRS.
Based on my real world experience, as I have posted previously, the '05 is very good on ORC, but does not exceed the IRS equipped Cobra IMHO. I consistently caught up to and passed the '05 each time I was on the track. The '05 never passed me. The '05 was being piloted by SVTOA driving instructors.
I have a NA '99 that dynos at 288 RWHP.
Until someone can post actuall ORC laps times I will believe what I experienced myself ...
And yes, I will be adding a new gen Mustang to my stable ....

But If you don't like a certain Mustang, fine. Don't come on here bashing V6 owners. They are still Mustangs, and this is a Mustang site.
