Chin spoiler and center fog grill installed

Just put in my new G.O. CDC chin spoiler and S/S center fog light grill. Both seem to be quality parts and I am happy with the looks.

Looks sharp Robbie. Factory paint-matched chin spoilers make the S197 look like a real beast... nice work

I love that center fog grille, but it blocks the cooling compeletely and with S/C and auto tranny I need all that cooling air!

Thanks, I got the idea for the badge from one of your previous post (I meant to thank you in the initial post). I did it a little different but it turned out great.

It's a metal fender badge from a '68. I got it at a local mustang restoration supply place for $6.95 new in the package, Couldn't beat it.

Ummm not really....

I have the Series VI on my ride with that grill and my average coolant temp runs about 185 - and my intake temp has NEVER gotten above 180ish on a day I drive for three hours straight, stop and go. The average intake temp runs about 140-150 ish

don't sweat it

Yeah but was that during the winter? Wait till summer rolls around. I have an electric remote mounted thermometer installed u can get them at lowes for under $10 bucks. During the winter my underhood temps never got above 120 mind you I have a Turbo under the hood which typically make a lot more heat. And I also have a shaker hood which helps to bring in some cold air and also the aggressive chin spoiler opens up the bottom quite a bit to let additional air flow in. The other day it was 81 here in ATL pretty warm for this time of year and I noticed my underhood temps climed to over 160. It wasnt even that hot out. Dont think it will be a big deal for you buy you might want to keep an eye.

Well I am in South Florida - there really is no such thing as "winter"...

This was in august of last year till now - including a trip to Birmingham for the MCA meet

Note: The Saleen air temp gauge measures the temp of the air right before it goes into the intake runners to give you the best idea what kind fo air the engine is getting

ALSO remember that these S197s run hot anyway - bone stock. That's well documented.

Where did you get the center grill? Thats looks real sharp. I just pickedup one by 3D Carbon. Very nice piece. I like the fact that they cut extra holes in the grill so more air can flow through as compared to the stock grill. Should help out for those of us looking for extra air flow.

Late model Restoration (5.0 resto). It was $149 and included the wire harness extensions.
