Look closely at the Ford Transit's shifter (6-speed manual gearbox). It has an uncanny resemblance to the S197 GT's IUP shifter, except it has a 6-speed pattern.

It's amazing how Ford Europe designs the interior on a working truck (basically their E-series) using high-end flashy parts, while we only see that stuff on the Mustang and other premiere platforms in Ford USA's lineup.

 

Ford takes the North American market for granted, in my opinion.

 

They might sell more cars if they done more things like this.

 

Actually, that Transit interior is a bit of a design and quality hodge-podge, IMO.

 

pretty sad when you can get a ford transit with a 6 speed but can't in a Mustang..unless you want to get raped by a dealer on a GT500

Pretty sad when you can get several features in a CIVIC that you can't get in a Mustang.

Hopefully, Mulally, et al are paying attention to the public's tired refrain.
