Check engine light problems

My girlfriends check engine light has been going on and off for about a month now. It's been in the shop 2-3 times and once to the Ford dealership. The only reason I'm posting is because it seems to be the only time it comes on is over long distances. When she drives 30 min or so it's just fine, but a 1-2 hr ride usually makes that lovely engine light pop up. I was wondering if anyone knows of any common problems with the '08 V6 that could cause this.

A while back it was for misfires, but the car doesn't shake as if the motor is out of rhythm. She says the dealership replaced the coil packs. Driving it earlier today at a stop light it would almost feel like it wanted to stall in idle by dropping a couple hundred rpms.

I was logging mis-fires in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Turned out to be a blown head gasket. Just a thought.

Haha funny you say that! Not too long ago I stripped my engine down and replaced the heads on my '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee along with some fuel injectors. I asked her when the last time the spark plugs had been changed and she couldn't tell me so there's that.

Mass Airflow Sensor. Use the correct solvents ONLY! Go purchase a can of MAF cleaner, and a can of Throttle body cleaner. They are defiantly different and you do not want to use one on the other.
