This appears to be NOS for the Foose Stallion. I have one of these hoods and the paint and finish are fantastic. If this is in fact one of the old stock Foose hoods, it's worth it.

Yes, those are the Foose Stallion hoods. Although I bought mine locally and it was not painted, these fit just like the OEM as they are aluminum and use the same Ford stamped underside. Even my body/paint guy made comments about it being one of the easiest aftermarket hoods he has prepped/painted.

And for the current price, you can't beat this hood and I highly recommend it

I think those hoods look nice, and for that price for an OEM aluminum hood it can't be beat, but it offers no real functional difference, correct? No increased air intake, cooling or venting...

I wish they had some vents like the GT500 or cowl intake or whatever...

 

No functional benefits, but it does eliminate the bolt-on, non-functional scoop that came on my car along with having an aluminum hood (which I never liked... and in hindsight, should have ordered mine without the scoop). But to your point, they could use vents as my favorite hood is the Saleen, but those are crazy priced... if you can even find an aluminum one these days as Saleen stopped making them.

 

I hear you there. So it IS functional for you -- eliminated drag of the fake scoop! That's worthwhile, if you ask me.

I got mine off eBay for $350 delivered. I too wanted to get rid of the hood scoop, very nice quality hood. So much nicer to drive without looking around the scoop, and it looks much better in person...very happy. The paint was a little more money than I was expecting to get it painted, several estimates to paint both sides were over a grand, but that included blending the fenders. This shop used my fuel door for the paint match and painted both sides for $500. The stock hood insulation fits perfect.

 

I think the big difference is just the pointy area up front. He said it uses the same Ford frame, so I'd guess it's the same profile at the back of the hood?

 

Yeah, I was pretty surprised by the cost of getting both sides done to mine. But I also ended needing to get it done twice as my painter tried without fender blending the first time and the tint was off just enough that required he shoot it along with fender tops. I ended dropping about a grand by the time he was done, but that also included repainting my chin spoiler, cups on the A47 mirrors and a billet fuel door.

I was kind of bummed though after seeing the price drop as I bought mine from a guy in MI in early '09 for $550... which also included a 6 hour round trip drive. Oh well, I am very happy with the results

Do it! I posted pics of mine in another thread that I got from CDC. It weighs nothing, was flawless when shipped, and only cost me $350 at the time. Reon from CDC wil also hook you up with finding a terminal to ship it to save you the $100 bucks on shipping.

I love the foose hood, but am still partial to the oldschool shaker scoop. My hood is the nearly identical Fang/Aeroform, nice for a 'glass hood, but weighs seemingly a ton compared to the taco-shell feeling aluminum hoods
