CDC Shaker Questions

Ok so im interested in the CDC shaker system but have some questions. It seems as though it is very expensive and has questionable performance. What are your oppinions?

1. I have talked to people with the system and have heard mixed results concerning horsepower gain. Some have gained a few and some have lost a few. Now this has cold air with it so shouldnt there be at least plus ten on the HP?

2. I Dont have the tools or skill to install it. Where do I go to have it installed?

3. How much will it cost total? I know the sytem is about 800. How much to get it installed and all?

Don't expect any increase in HP, it's mostly a cosmetic mod.

I would think any body shop or speed shop that installs ground effect kits is up to the task.
Be warned though, no one will take the time to ensure everything is lined up and gapped perfectly as you will.

I'm guessing shops will charge around $250 to install it.

where are you from? i can install it with you if your anywhere near omaha, ne.

very minor hp gains have been recorded. dont pay too much for the install, its not that hard and it only took me 4 hours with limited tools.

Yeah Im up in colorado but I might try it myself. I've got friends with some major tools so maybe I can collect them and then do it myself.

+2 on Taco's comments.
Do it yourself. It is not that difficult, just drilling the first hole is what kills ya.

do what I did. For the money I would spend to have someone install it. I bought a takeoff hood. You could spend 250 for install and it might not comeout how you like it, or one day you want to sell the car and I want to keep the shaker, this way you will have unlimited options and a backup.

I like that idea better than cutting the stock hood

i cut my stock hood, but any more mods i do will be shaker compliant. and the next owner will have to live with the shaker on it.

Yep, do it yourself. There really aren't a lot of tools needed, just some patience and measuring skills.

Only 4 beers huh? Well from what i hear I might as well do it myself and save some cash then. Can a cold air intake be installed around the shaker? As in one that will up the hp?
