I simply had my antena shaved off and the blanks welded in the fender. No more antena and reception is great thanks to the amplified antena stuck behind the headliner in the back windsheild.

All is good now.

How much did that cost you? Sounds like a pretty cool setup

The antenna was $25bux plus the appropriate adapter to the radio. Lets say cost with shipping for both items was $40bux.

The body work cost me $100, however the reason for it was because I was having other body work done too as the guy only charged me $100. This may be high or low depending on the place but it seemed fair to me.

The antenna was made by metra I believe. Just google "amplified antenna" it will look lke a small brick with two floppy ears on it.

Ok, update on the antenna. So I had clipped mine to 15.5" and reception is about half of what it was with the full size antenna. Maybe it's because DC has a LOT of EMI, or the stations are too far away from the outskirts where I live, but my reception is pretty static-y now. Just to be sure I switched with a buddy that has a Bullitt, and he agreed the clipped antenna sucks. the full sized stock antenna sounds like a CD compared to the other.

luckily he really liked the way the shorty antenna looked so he's ordering the 14" from AmericanMuscle. I've got a guinea pig now...ehehehe. I'll let you know what kind of reception he gets with it.
