I've called a coulpe of Insurance campanies and wasn't too happy with the rates they quoted.

I thought I would ask people here what they are paying for car insurance.

Just trying to find the lowest rate I can, any suggestions would be helpful.

I've gotten a quote that ends up being about $200/month for a GT.

Getting $580 for 6months from Travelers Insurance which comes out to be ~$96/month, 23, clean record.

As a side note, I tried USAA.com and got around the same $230/month. Big difference.

27/m, GT, clean record, $185/ month Progressive.

What you really have to consider is who offers GAP insurance? Progressive does for an extra 9 dollars/ 6 months. Only reason I am with them.

1999 Chevy Blazer Liability only with a 2006 Mustang GT full coverage is $260.00 a month.
Male clean record and 42
Wife clean record and 36
no kids at driving age living in Philly

Does that sound about right?

Sounds right for your age. I have allstate for my eclipse which is 450 per 6 months, went to see what they wanted for the mustang and they quoted me 1800 for 6 months. I told them very politely screw you. You might want to try insurance.com for rates as well

Well, there are reasons why you're paying that much:

1. GEICO (which actually means "Government Employee's Insurance CO.) is naturally more expensive than everyone else.
2. Your age. Drivers under 25 pay more by default. Insurance companies eventually lower your rate when you get older and keep a clean record consistent.

Does anyone else here live in Philly
If you do what are your insurance rates?

$3000.00 a year for someone my age at 42 and my wife at 36 with clean record seems high.

I have State Farm, quoted monthly:

$024 - 1993 Nissan Truck - Liability Only
$137 - 1998 BMW 540i - Full Coverage
$054 - 2000 Suzuki SV650 - Liability Only
$096 - 2006 Mustang GT Coupe - Full Coverage
$311 - Total Insurance Costs

I have had 5 tickets in the past two years. Seems July every year I get two back to back. I have perfect credit. According to my agent, I am in their Premier Group which doesn't check driving records. The best gift I ever recieved from my parents. Who knows how I ended up here. My friend pays $265 per month for his 99 Mustang GT Coupe, sucks to be him.

:drive:
