That article is horrible... C&D just took this opportunity to complain about everything they didn't like on the GT AGAIN and add their complaints about the V6 short-comings.

The tires ruin the vehicle? GO OUT AND BUY BETTER ONES.

Bah. :bang: :nono:

BTW... Route66 I'm not killing the messenger just hating on the car rag.

It's an accurate review. Get over it.

Excellent Article...

Is seemed fair and accurate. I found it interesting that the 05 V6 and 04 V8 were so close in preformance numbers...

It looks like ford gave the "chick" car a much needed boost in performance....

This has been posted before but it's a great artical, it was one of the things that help us to change our minds on the v6 and go with the GT.

Seems a reasonable write-up to me too, and hardly a pan nor a paean either. And of course they are going to dig at the car's shortcomings, the Mustang ain't a perfect car, for if they didn't, they would be little more than fawning Ford ad writers.

They do give good credit for the much improved scoot, even if the old 4.0 is no paragon in terms of NVH. The, hopefully, upcoming Duratec 3.5 should improve on the former a bit and the latter a bunch.

The tires, little more than cheap rim protectors, do obviously degrade the dynamics quite a bit. Better tires would obviously help here, but hey, they are dancing with the girl Ford brought to the ball, not a dolled-up tuner car honey.

As for repeating their gripes for the GT, well, that makes sense and shows some editorial consistancy given that they are basically the same car and thus, would have many of the same assets and debits of character.

Again, seems like a fair overall assessment to me and generally a quite positive one.

the v6 shouldnt be labeled as a "chick car" but as a budgeted car, i mean not everyone is able to drop 30k+ on a car, thats y im going with the v6, but hearing chick car makes me kinda mad...

I completely agree with this statement. I'm going to college full-time and don't have the resources to drop $27k+ on a new car but I need on reguardless. So I can go dirt-cheap and get a POS Hyundia or Kia. Or I could get some tuner/ricer car such as a Civic, RSX, Tc, Neon. But I'd rather get the "chick" car a V6 Mustang.

Bah

By the time I finish college and get into a corporate level job it'll be time to jettison the "fun" car aka Mustang for luxury.

I used the term "chick" car because that is what the article was hinting at with their statment that "..Something about this sporty coupe results in nearly 55 percent of V-6 Mustangs being driven by females...".

I am glad to see the they gave the new v6 a little more muscle....

Heck, when I was in college, I drove an Toyota Celica GTS with a whooping 115hp inline 4 banger...

Sorry if I rubbed your feathers the wrong way...
