I'm surprised you havent just found someone who 'knows someone' who can help you pass the inspection. I have a local friend who has helped me more than once pass an inspection (realize, he isnt an idiot who blindly just writes things up), but he knows that I'll take care of any issues that truely need fixed.

With my mustang...he knows how hard I work to keep it in absolute perfect shape, so it is one of the very few times he will just write up the inspection before I even get there.

It may not be politically correct, but its been nice not to have to deal with some idiot who is actually fabricating some 'issue' so he can try to charge me to repair it...when my buddy tells me 'you need to get this fixed' I know to do it right away.

Bhead, where are you from? Ny? I'm just one of those guys that tries to fix something themselves before asking anyone to do it for me ya know? But if it fails again with the stock tune I will b emailing brenspeed.

Andretti, I could go to a friend of mine to get it done shady like but when the car is connected to the computer it just says not ready. It atleast needs to be "ready" even if its shady. I've already tried to go down that road hahaha

I was able to get my car passed here in IL without any trouble, installed the stock airbox and tune, drove around for a half hour and then got in line at the testing lane, it took a half hour to get through the lane, but I passed and immediately went home and put the JLT back on and flashed the computer. The car felt so slow with the stock intake and tune, I had to put it back to modded right away. I don't have longtube headers or gears so it was easy to go back to the stock tune.

Thats whats cool about being a kid, my son registers his mustang in a non smog/cheap tabs county.

He stays at his brothers house, make it his home of record....................

We have no smog checks here YET, but tabs are kinda high compared to WA

Jason, you actually dont need to get the new NY plates, they're optional. Just another way for the state to make money.

Hey mike, are they really optional? Who in their right mind would want those on their car?

Glad to hear you passed inspection! I took mine in for inspection yesterday and passed with flying colors with a Vortech V2 installed, very happy! it would really suck if I had to put the car back to stock.
