guys its simple as a pimple...
If it comes with the stripe, you just request it off before pickup.

My V6 came with the Sport Appearance Package and they took the stripe off (thank god)

I am keeping the wing for now. Very intersted in seeing Cervinis Eleanor kit when it is done. That may be so sweet that I will be the first time I have purchase a body kit for a stang.

Thanks boomer:

So is (invoice + holdback) what we should expect to ask for the price when we order? And does this apply for the options also (auto tranny etc)?

If you offer invoice + holdback, the salesman makes no money. I think you have to offer over that amount, possibly $500 - $1000 Cdn.

lets put it this way, pretend the first column never existed. A dealer would have to be really desperate to sell a car to touch their holdback. I can't see any way an '05 can be negotiated to less than invoice unless the sales guy is

Dumb question guys, but to figure out taxes on the car do I simply add 15% on to the price, or are any of the items deductable. Someone mentioned that option airbags are tax exempt (b.s?) I know its not rocket science but I want to make sure I know how much my car will be
before it arrives. Thanks again for the Barrie pics guys, sorry I missed ya.

oh yeah, got my build date 2 day. Oct 4

Jim, too bad we missed yah in Barrie. We'll meet up in the future....

Also, when did you place your order Jim? Just curious as I'm trying to figure out where dealers are with their order/build times.

I ordered the first day the order bank opened. Was that May 24 weekend? Ordered a min. grey gt w/d.chrcoal leather, side air bags, standard rims(bullits) IUP 5 speed. Also ordered shker 1000 but it got lost in the inputing, which is fine by me cause I think its overpriced.
When did you order? What options?

Have no idea what you mean?

So let me try and restate my questions.

1.is invoice what dealer pays for the car?
2.what is the holdback thing?
3.is msrp the price we will see posted on window?
4.what do i offer dealer?
a:msrp?
b:invoice+holdback?
c:500-1000 over invoice+holdback (no options)
d:500-1000 over invoice+holdback (with options)

ps:im not trying to get great deal or anything,im just trying to figure out what i should offer...

Hmm so by my calculations a fully loaded GT would cost $41328.75 MSRP here in Edmonton. Man that's a lot of dough. :hiding: Welps that pretty much made it clear to me that I wont be getting a new Mustang anytime soon. If I had the money I definatly buy an '04 SVT Cobra. Cheaper and more power. But hey that is just my opinion anyways.

Tom,

Invoice + Holdback is the price that the dealer pays Ford for the car.

When they finally sell the car, Ford gives them the holdback as well.

MSRP is the Manufacterer's Suggested Retail Price. It is posted on the windows of the car and on the websites like ford.ca

When it comes time to negotiate, calculate the total price with options using both invoice + holdback and MSRP, you should offer something inbetween.

that's interesting Steve! Your looking at bodywork, to get the holes filled in from the spoiler; or are you going to put a U.S.version on with no spoiler? ----or maybe a ducktail! now there's a thought!

The last thing I feel like doing is welding holes in my brand-new trunklid.

I am going to try and find a dealer in buffalo/detroit area that has a base V6 sonic coupe on the lot and negotiate a swap of decklids and emblems. That shouldn't cost too much, an hour or two of labour, plus the dealer gets to mark their car up.
