Can I fit Tires inside Mustang

Hi:

Just bought a set of 2008 GT500 Wheels\Tires for my 2005 Mustang....Long drive to pick them up...Would like to take the mustang, if they would fit inside the car...otherwise I need to take the Explorer...not as much fun to drive

Rears are 285 and the fronts are 255...

Just me going so can push front seat forward....

Think they would go in?

I think you can. Fold the seats down and put 3 back there then put the 4 one in the front seat. I would takke the exploder if I was you though

IMO, if you'r purchasing used wheels/tires, they will have dirt - no matter how much the previous owner cleaned them. I, personally, would NOT put used wheels/tires inside my Mustang. Take a ton of work-on-car towels and/or blankets and use the Explorer.

I've done it. 2009 GT and bought GT500 wheels. 1 in the trunk, fold seats down and two in back, last one in front seat.

They Just Fit :)

Like you said they just fit in beautifully...not any excess room though...one in trunk, two in back with the seats folded down..and one in the front seat, with a couple old blankets protecting my dash and the new Roush leather seat..could not hide the tires going thru customs today though..hard to say "nothing" when they ask you "Anything to Declare".

Thanks for the help...really did not want to take the wife's explorer...it was a long drive on a beautiful twisty, rolling hills road...the supercharger on the Mustang wanted to go for a run

when I bought new tires, I got 2 in back, one on top of those, one in trunk...bought black rockers at a swapmeet, they fit *barely*, hauled a electric dirt bike in the trunk for kids one christmas. when I painted my mustangs hood, I hauled it in our 65 galaxie- roll all the windows down(pillarless/4door) the hood sat right in on the rear package tray/seatback, I did have to lean a little bit, definitely a beverly hillbillies moment, but it wouldnt fit in the truck, didnt have the van anymore...do what ya gotta do.

dumbest haul I ever made was the night I finished the new frame for the 65 galaxie and hauled it home from the shop...17' long, in the 8' bed of my F150, yeah, about 7 feet past the lowered tailgate...was late, like 2 am/no traffic, not far to go, had flags on it...but if I woulda got pulled over, it woulda been a problem I think. didnt look that bad at night, but next day in the sun, jeez...

I hauled 26' joists (twice over the years)for a garage addition on my f150 once, wrapped with foam, heavy tie straps under hood/over fender, over door, off bed, hauled really easy right along side the truck, no scratches, dead solid, didnt stick out but a couple feet front/rear with flags...the guy at the lumberyard was impressed
