Can Ford's X-Plan Be beat
#1
I can buy a new Mustang convertible at what's called Ford Partner's
X-Plan price. It appears that might might approx .5% under
invoice.
Is that the best to hope for or should I haggle more with the
dealer?
Thanks in advance

I ordered with the x-plan, and my car should've been $27,215, with the x-plan is $25,181. It's about an 8% discount (which pretty much covers the options I ordered plus tax).

X-Plan is a discount program for employees of Ford suppliers. A-Plan is the Ford employee program and D-Plan is the dealership employee program. Each plan is only good for so many vehicles over a set period of time, like 3 every 2 years or something like that. Once the allotted number of pin numbers is used by the plan buyer, no more are available to them until the period expires.

I plan on working with a friend of mine who is the Fleet Mgr for one of this company's sister dealerships to see if he can order my car for me. I am waiting for the 06 info to come out before I contact him.
I was at the dealer yesterday getting my Taurus service, and they had 2 GT verts on the lot. One White, the other Windveil Blue, both automatics. The White car had $6,999 in Additional Dealer Markup and the Blue car had $7999 in ADM. Pretty depressing. Are people still paying $40K plus for these cars?

The only thing better would be A-plan. My GT will be A-plan (if I ever get it).
example
Retail - 27705.00
Dealer Invoice - 25603.86
X-plan - 25620.49
A-plan - 24490.86
This is from my VOC.

At this point I agree with Eleanor Dreaming, sticker, no negotiations. You are looking at sticker plus $495 and $175 for IUP and ICAP (and usually, if you buy right from the lot, you will find the shaker 1000 [another $1,770] and maybe upgraded wheels [$195]).
If you order I don't think you have a chance of getting an 05 right now, unless it's a really big mustang selling dealer with allocations still left!
Good luck
