My Shaker 500 Radio's cd player had an error. I brought it in to ford and they replaced it. The only problem is now the panel (numbers, words) on the stereo do not light up when I turn the head lights on. I brought it back to Ford, and they said there is some type of code that has to be programmed into the radio for it to work. They would have done it for me that day, but their service department website was down and they could not access the information. I really hate going to Ford. It is a waste of my time. Does anyone know what "code" they are talking about? And if so, can I just do it myself or do I really have to go back there. Thanks!

 

The unit has to be programmed by a dealership with the appropriate computer / software. Unfortunately, we (the public) don't have access to it...

Sorry man, it's another day at the dealer for you...
