Has anyone gotten scheduled for production on your convertible orders yet? Just want to try and get an idea of when the first convertibles will be delivered to those who ordered them.

I'll be checking tomorrow after they pull the schedule tonight. Hopefully with about a 100% IUP commodity allowance this week I will be one of the lucky ones.

Strange...you would think after seeing the commodity report yesterday of IUP at 100%, that hold should be coming off in the very near future.

Yeah, I only ordered on 1-22. My dealer says it will be until May or June for me, but he also told me when I ordered that they would not start building convertibles for months b/c they were going to catch up on coupe orders, which we all know is false. According to karpro's commodity report this week, convertibles were at 33%. Who knows.

Yeah, ...but which Easter.

Everybody's heard me complain before - but I'm into my second month of "Clean and Unscheduled" with a DORA of 11/1 and a priority of 12 (changed from 10).

Gettin' so bad that the little woman at dinner last night asked "Which holds it's value better, ..a Mustang or a 'Vette (the'Vette she likes is "in stock" at MSRP). It is even getting to her and she has her own new '05 Something else that she really likes.

Now that I have had my rant, ...congrats and good luck !!! I think you will be glad when it's all over.

i spoke with my dealer after the first of the year, i could not place the order then because FORD's system would not accept orders, therefore, i ordered on Jan 14, instead of January 4....so here is my question to all of you, those that claim to have ordered before January 8 (the first date that i know Ford's system would actually recieve an order), that order date may be irrelevant as your dealer more then likely took your order and submitted it in January when ordering status opened up---any thoughts, or maybe my dealer was confused (which could be a definite possibility)--

Are you saying Ford would not accept your order initially because of the IUP or because it was a vert or both.

Hey inVERTed- My DORA shows that Ford accepted the order from my dealer on 12-13-04....no pricing was available at that time, but the dealer was still able to submit the order. BTW....i'm still C/U

Just returned from my dealer, and I have a VIN number assigned to me. Of the seven (7) convertible orderes at my dealer, I'm the only one with an assigned VIN. Should be driving it by early March!

my impression was that you could not even order the vehicle until then, since you had a DORA in hand....looks like my dealer was either misinformed, BS'ing me, or it was a combination of both.........

envious yes. in all honesty, unless my convertible is #1 off the line, i'd rather be outside the first 2-300 built so they work out the kinks (if any) in the production line........... B)....although first 2-300 should be quality checked with more of a fine toothed comb i guess....

You get your DORA a day or two after you order. They have been taking vert order for awhile. I ordered mine on 11/6 and from what I have heard from reliable sources they were taking orders as early as earl October.

There may still be a temporary hold on any new orders with IUP until they get caught up on all the orders that have been piling up on the backorders. This will hopefully pass soon.

Has anyone received a build date prior to 2/14 for a GT Vert, yet?
