Has anyone else had problems with their windows fogging up on a fairly regular basis when not running A/C and relatively warm air? If I'm running cool air (re-circulating it or not) without A/C I seem to be fogging up pretty quick even when it is bone dry outside.

Anyone else experience this problem?

I have noticed that the rear window is frequently fogged up. I find myself running the defroster in the afternoon and early evening, when I would think it wouldn't be necessary this time of year.

But, Cincinnati is one of the most humid places on earth, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I've never had the problem with any other car, so I don't know.

Let me know how it works. As it stands right now it's automatic to hit the defroster button to clear fog from my rear-window.

correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't you have to put that Rain-X stuff on the inside, since that is where the window fog develops? Or does putting it on the outside help with the fog on the inside? Oh well, let us know how it works Cher!

RainX makes a product for the inside of the windows to reduce fog on the inside. It's completely different that the stuff you put on the outside to get rain to bead up on the windows.

Only time I notice it fogging up on the inside, is if I leave it in defrost vent setting, and next morning go out. In the morning it has fogged up. If left in different switch setting, the vent does not let it fog up. Good luck

I'll tell you that when you run the defrost, Ford has always engineered that switch to activate the AC compressor. An AC compressor will dry out the air, and with ford, it will not recirculate the inside air if defrost is on. I have seen other car manufacturers do that, but most will give you separate controls so that you can still recirc the air. But, yeah.... Fords will not. So, but running the defrost, you're also running your AC. I can't say, however, whether or not the clutches are completely locked, so you may not feel the drag of the compressor.... I always made it a point to run nothing while racing... except perhaps the heat, blowing thru the panel. the floor setting, the mix setting and defrost will always run your compressor.
That's the only fix that I know of. to keep your windows clear on the inside. I know in FL I had a little fog in my rental car, even with the AC on.

I always thought that the floor setting "did not" run the compressor ??

the floor setting does... the panel is the only one that doesn't.

this was page 29 out of the owner's manual.

ok, screw it... I can't figure out how to attatch the picture, so go to the documents section of the 2005 Mustangs and look at page 29.
