Build week of Sept. 11th

ERL says we have a build week of Sept. 11th. Better late than never, but it won't give me much time to drive it before the winter comes. Anyone else with this same build week?

It's funny but being in California that is something we never think about. I would hate to just get a car as awesome as this and have to put it away. Hey drive out west and stay the winter

I know it's all about the numbers, but wouldn't you think Ford would get their Mustangs out to the NE dealers first before they worry about Florida, California, Arizona, Texas, and all of the other warm states that don't experience snow?

How are the NE dealers going to sell a GT or V6 from November - February?

I ordered mine in January. I only found two dealers in the state of NH that would sell me a GT off the lot at below MSRP in the dead of winter. They didn't seem to be having any troubles, and the next state north of me is Quebec!!!

ERL told me today that as of 09/12 your car has been built and released from the plant with an ETA to dealer the week of 09/22. I hope to be driving it by the weekend of the 23rd.

Should I track the railcar or wait patiently???

I'm beginning to think tracking is bad. It almost never gets the car there faster, and you drive yourself crazy thinking about it. That being said, I'm calling the ERL right now...

Hey Cochise - that's excellent news about your car!! Mine has the same build week of 9/11 and I'd sure like to be able to call the ERL and track it! I've seen the "800" number posted but don't have an order number or VIN to use.....can you explain what you are using to track yours?

I got in on an advertised NE "dead of winter" price for my GT when I picked it up in the spring

Call your dealer and ask them to fax you a copy of the order confirmation. This will give you your order # and dealer code. Then follow these steps by calling the 800 # :
1. Select option # 2
2. ERL will ask if you are checking an order # or VIN, say "order #"
3. DEALER CODE: five digit code
4. MODEL YEAR: 2007
5. BODY TYPE: T80 for V6 or T82 for GT
6. ORDER #: mine was a 4 digit #

You'll have to confirm a couple of responses by saying "yes". ERL will then tell you what your status is. Mine said "As of Sept. 12, your car has been built and released from the foreign factory with an ETA to dealer of week of Sept. 22nd." Good luck.

I found the # to call to obtain the railcar information. Is this what you used: 800-392-FORD?

I called the above # but didn't know what option to select or what to ask for. Am I "supposed" to be the "dealer" when I call? What are the steps in doing this? Thanks.

This will be the LONGEST week of my life!! It's like having Christmas Eve go for one week when you are 8 years old.

Hi COCHISE.

I just asked my dealer what the railcar number was. They had no problem getting it for me. Not sure how they got it.

Cochise - thanks I called this number today 800.392.3673 and he asked me for my VIN then told me my Stang had been serialzied/scheduled (but couldn't confirm build date) and told me the delivery date was October 15th that's 3 weeks later than my dealer was telling me - so I'm not sure he knows what he's talking about - since he couldn't even tell me the build week. I'm going to try your number and see what I get!

Unhappy My Order

So my car was "locked in" last week to built the week of 9/11 with an ETA of 10/3. As of 4:15 pm today (Friday), ERL still says it is scheduled to be built this week! When I called Ford customer service they had no update on my order except an ETA of 10/10!

What does this mean? Any thoughts?

Mine was scheduled for build week of 9/11. I found out on 09/13 it was built and released from factory as of 09/12. Call Saturday and see if ERL is updated. It may have been built Friday and won't update until Saturday or even Monday. As far as the ETA, don't worry about it moving back a week. My first ETA was week of 09/23, then week of 09/29, now week of 09/22. I've seen it on here before where it changes and guys get it earlier than expected.

ERL says today my car has been shipped via "convoy carrier". Is that ERL language for choo-choo train?
