I've been getting the same recording for the last 2 weeks, "As of May 4th your vehicle was produced." Are there any dealers on this site that can track a car for those of us who are waiting? All I know is that it's driving me crazy!!

To everyone who is waiting for a 5/2 week built car. I too am in the same predicament. I called our internal order processing center and got 5 different stories. What has finally come out of it is a shortage of rail cars and as of last Fridy over 1400 Mustangs waiting for shipment including mine. Unless your salesperson / manager knows who to call, they won;t find out that info. I sent an email up the Ford food chain past my local rep to his boss. They have regional people trying to find my car. No real ETA is given.

I have been complaining about things like this for years. The communication to dealers is almost non-existant. My daily status report still shows a rail car number with a ramp ETA of 5/12 and the car has not even left Flat Rock. The on line status shows shipped Convoy direct. This is what is so frustrating for us. Each one of you has his or her single car to care about [and rightfully so]. On any given day I have many customers ordered vehicles to watch [and now my own Mustang] and try to figure out what is going on. A lot of times it is not yor dealers fault. He can only go by the info he is given by Ford, unfortunately the info is sometimes flawed.

Hope these explanations help, i know they aren;t what everyone wants to hear.

Add me to the list of people waiting for their mustang to be delivered. My vehicle was produced May 4, shipped via convoy carrier on May 9, and shipped via rail carrier on May 14. Talked to my salesman yesterday and he's cluesless as to what's going on. He did give me an ETA date of May 27 though. :bang:

Thanks ISELL.. I just needed to find out the real answer and not given the run around.. I don't mind waiting as long as I know it is coming. Nothing we can really do at this point. I'd rather our cars get transported safely in one piece instead of being rushed at the risk of being damaged.

Must be frustrating since all of ours were built the same week, I would be wondering too..

I can tell you how messed up the ERL is, today she still says mine is at the ramp......No, it's in MY GARAGE!

Finally some info that makes sense. I didn't think they would ship to Washington via convoy carrier. I am sure that my dealer does not have a clue to what is actually happening. They do not seem to want to make any extra effort to find out the truth. Thanks to ISELL for the info.

I hope there isn't another rail car shortage. I'm almost positive that cars coming out to Portland dealers are shipped via rail.

I forgot to mention that I read somewhere on the window sticker, I think at the bottom, that ours was shipped via truck the whole way to CA. I cannot look at it right now but I remember seeing something like that at the bottom of the sticker.

Great googly-moogly my car is IN. I am off to do hand-to-hand combat with the finance guy. (practicing saying that no, I do not want the undercoating, or the extended warranty, or the Scotch guard or the rest of the BS that they try to push)

I finally got a call from my regional rep who said that my car should be here as it was put on a transport on the 18th but the transport had truck problems. It's always something.
At least I am at the dealership all day today and can see out the window from my office.

Get those nanners out !!!!! i picked mine up Saterday. The dealer went and picked it up, insted of waiting for a transport truck. I had them install my BF Goodrich T/A KDWS 255/50/17s. I can't stay out of the dam thing, in 01 i bought a brand new SVT Lightning. This thing is as quick or quicker then the "L" was. Then i got an 04 Acura MDX, to mundane. It's nice to be back in the saddle of a good old American V8.

Fritz, "05" Silver GT Coupe IUP and everything ...at home
