Well after waiting since 6/29 I finally got a build week of 1/2/06 . Hopefully the workers aren't hungover from New Year's. Who else is scheduled to be built that week?

 

I've been waiting since 8/2 & I'm scheduled to be built the week of Jan 2 also. Let's hope our cars won't be built by hungover workers reluctant to go back to work after 2 weeks off. Who knows...maybe they'll make a resolution to build the best cars ever in 2006? Think positive. At least it's being built.

 

I'm about as positive as they come. I've seen a lot of people cry after waiting for a month to get their cars. By time I get mine it will have been 6 1/2 months, so a little more waiting can't hurt me

 

I just received word that my November 16th order turned into a Jan 2nd 2006 build date. I guess we will get to see how the holiday break will affect the builds.

Just got the word from the ERL. Build week od Jan 2.

Didn't wait quite as long as you...ordered 10/31.

 

Update: "As of January 6th, 2006, your unit is locked in for production and is scheduled to be built week of January 2nd, 2006 with and estimated time of arrival week of January 9th, 2006." I can't believe after all this waiting it is almost here. Seems like an eternity.......

 

Well I'm getting bummed. ETA slipped to week of 1/27. Before Christmas it was ETA for week of 1/21.

 

I feel ya on that one. My ETA slipped to week of 1/15 (found it kind of weird that the date falls on a Sunday since the ETA week usually falls on a Monday). Oh well, I guess one extra week won't kill me.

 

Found out from Kzinti over at BOF that my car will be built today or tomorrow!! Plus, I will be taking the plant tour on Monday. Maybe my car will still be in the lot waiting to be shipped. That'll be weird knowing my car is there somewhere.

 

How did you obtain your VIN?

 

stang9325, i see you have the 64W's, are they starting to get more of these in, my dealer told me that was the reason i am waiting. short supply of 64W. as of jan 2nd i am C/U.

Once I knew that my unit was locked in for production (aka notified of build week), I called my dealer and asked him for the VIN (if they ask why, tell them you need to get an accurate insurance quote).

I'm not really sure, but I do know I waited a long time for this car. I think between an allocated 3 or 4 GT's per month my dealership is getting plus the 64W's are the two main reasons it took mine so long. Hang in there though, it'll be great once you get it. I know EXACTLY how you feel.

Neither of these two dates fall on a Monday, buy hey, I'm not complaining. I am guessing that my car will be here on Thursday (12th).

 

Same with me. Only my delivery ETA week is Jan 20. I'm hoping 16 - 20.

 

I just got the same message, except it's saying the week of Jan 16th.

However, as of Jan 9, my dealer still has no invoice nor even a complete VIN. I'm purchasing through an out-of-state dealer to get the X-Plan & having it drop shipped locally. I suspect this might have something to do with the hold-up. I'm getting anxious as they have to FedEx me the invoice for signing, then I have to FedEx it back. In the meantime, I have a finished vehicle just sitting somewhere while Erie, PA enjoys a rare snow-free January. We'll probably get 24" of snow the day the car is prepped.

After 6 months of waiting, it's hard to believe the end is finally in sight!

 

Just came in today!!! Gonna pick it up tomorrow. Here is a little teaser. Not the best picture since it was with my phone.

 

Congrats! Mine is supposed to arrive Wednesday, Jan 18. Got my window sticker .pdf file already. I have it memorized while I'm counting the hours down.

 

On a whim, I stopped by the dealership at which my GT was to be drop shipped. Guess what - it is there already. Based on the amount of snow on it, it must have arrived Friday PM, apparently ahead of the paperwork. With no mail being delivered on MLK Monday, it looks like I won't get to pick it up until Tuesday. Talk about frustrating.

 

That's sucks. I might have cried if I saw mine with snow on it. I got it about 10 hours before the snow started to fly. Have fun driving it and congrats for when you do finally pick it up

 

Finally got everything straightened out & drove car home Friday. Very satisfied with car after 53 miles :-) Weather still terrible & I didn't get any pics of the exterior but I was able to take a panorama view of the dark IUP dash from the back seat. Pictures just don't do it justice. Dark dash looks great with red leather interior!
