The ERL keeps telling me that my car is scheduled to be built "Week of October 3rd" but i saw other people posting with "Build Dates" of the 4th, 7th and such. Then she told me my ETA was "Week of October 13th" then moved to 19th :bang: ....those aren't even Monday's. Does the ERL actually give a firm date for things? When my car is actually built, will the ERL tell me?

"As of September 22nd, your unit is scheduled to be built week of October 17th 2005."

That's what ERL has told me for a while now. I called my dealer hoping to get a VIN soon. I don't know what to tell you about those mid weekdays.

The ERL will tell you that you are "locked in for production" on a single date in your build week. That's your build date.

I got that message a couple days after I got the 1st "build week" message and then the ERL reverted back to build week.

You could provide your VIN to Kzinti over at Blue Oval News and he will provide you all your dates to so far.

That is EXACTLY what I got from the ERL too. Same days, same everything and the most confusing part is that was my status as of October 8th.

/em checks the calendar.

ERL is smoking something, just take it with a grain of salt, and just assume things are rolling along. Dont count on her dates. I went from ETA the 9th, to the 15th, and just last night the 8th!!!! Crazy either way you look at it. But at least you know its getting closer.

Mine was "as of Sept. 22nd" I had a build week of "Oct. 17th". It was like that for two weeks.

Then, yesterday, "as of Sept. 22nd" I have a build week of "Oct. 10th".

Curious that the "as of" date didn't change.

That's just the way she works. The important part is the "build week" statement and the "locked in" statement. As long as you get those, things are going well.

Kevin, you should be able to easily get your VIN from the dealer. They should have it on their latest sales status sheet. If they are not providing it, it is because no one is bothering to look it up for you. They update these status reports regularly. They include status on stock orders and retail orders.

I have the exact same problem.....ERL is CRAZY!! I called this morning and got the same stupid answer.....as of oct 8th, my build week is 10/3 and ETA is week of 10/23....no "locked in" date or anything. I guess this means she hasn't been built. Unfortunately, my dealer won't release the VIN to me. I guess there's not other way to get it???????

If you were locked in before, and now you are not, I think that this means that you stang actually HAS been built. I read somewhere that the ERL turns a little screwy after you are built. If the dealer won't give you your VIN, something fishy is going on.

Strange. The day after my locked-in build date, my ERL message was "Your unit has been produced". Next was "shipped by rail carrier"

Why won't your dealer give you a VIN? Tell him that you need it to give to your insurance agent.

Well, now I really don't know what is going on. I just gave my info to Kzinti over at BOF, so I should have this all cleared up by the end of the day.
