After you get a build week it probably wont have anymore status updates until the week before your build week. I believe the next update will be a day within the build week that they schedule your car to be built.

I got my build week as the week of June 13th, I called tonite and the message is still the same, however my dealer called me at home yesterday and said that my order should be coming in the first week of July, so I'm thinking the message wont change once you get your build week message, unless the give a delivery date.

The build week starts on Monday and ends on Saturday which means your car will be built sometime during that week.
In my case I had a build week of 12/13 and on 12/15 my status changed to produced and shipped.

I have been reading a lot of build week post is it me or has Ford sped up the production, or is there just a lot of us who have ordered around the same time.

Maybe somebody can help - or give me some ideas. This whole build schedule has me confused. I've been calling the dealer for my status information. This is what I've been told:

My order has been accepted by Ford and I have an order #

I've had a VIN number for my car for at least a few weeks.

I was told today that my "build week" is listed as "6/7". Now - I know the build week is supposed to be a Monday - and 6/7 is actually a Tueday - so I'm confused about this. Maybe the guy read it wrong or something?

Otherwise - there is no other info on my car. No build date, ship date, delivery date, or anything. The dealer thinks it might have been built and is on the way. Seems unlikely to me. Is Ford pretty good at keeping that database updated?

Any ideas?

Here's a quick example of the time Line I have logged into my mustang folder:
Todays date June 25
~Ordered 3-19 (Dealer had said it will be at least 10 weeks before I hear anything)
~Serialized-5-19
~Build Date the week of 6-13 (6-15ealer called and had said that to expect the car in the first week of July)
~Shipped Out June 20th
~Arrived at the Ramp June 23 (Not sure what this exactly means)
Expected The first week of July the week of my birthday...wooohooo[B]

I hope this helps maybe you can start counting the days between to get a good idea of what might to expect but I'm sure the time differs due to the order and the dealership but this should give you a good rough estimate. I ordered a GT Vert with every possible option to let you know. Once again hope this helps.

Thanks 555.

I guess the thing that still confuses me is that if my build week was actually the week of June 6th - as my dealer says (even though he said "6/7") - wouldn't the car now be finished?

If it wasn't built - wouldn't they have changed the build week in the system? Or blanked it out?

And if it is finished - why isn't the system showing a shipped out date yet? Afer all - it's been two weeks since that week was over.

It just isn't adding up for me. I suspect I've got some bad info somewhere. Either the dealer is reading the screen wrong or Ford isn't updating their system.

The dealer seems to be VERY confident that I'll get an '05. We'll see. It's getting close. Four more weeks of '05 production and that's it.

If nobody has any ideas - I'll just inquire further next week (the last build week before the two-week factory break).

I had a similer problem with my order. I called the dealer on 10/20 and placed my order over the phone and told him I would come in and give him my deposit when they got my VIN. On 11/4 the dealer called and said they had my VIN so I drove over after work and paid the deposit and got my DORA and noticed I had a priority 20. When I asked about that he said 'don't worry about it as your car is being built as of 10/27'.

Based on this site I knew that their were issues with IUP and Spoilers on the Mustang resulting in production delays so I called Ford Customer Care (NOT ERL) and they confirmed my fears...car on temporary delay.

My car remained in that status until late November when I finally got a build week.
Once that happened the ERL was pretty accurate on dates it gave in regard to build, shipping and delivery ETA.

arbell when you call the 800 number and are still having a problem choose the help option to get a live operator and talk to them I have found that to be helpful

I've read in other posts where you guys are calling Ford directly for delivery info. So far - I've only talked to the dealer for info.

I know my order number but not my dealer number. I don't know the 800 number either. I'll call the dealer on Monday and get this info and call myself.

Here is the 800 number if you dont have it: 1-800-962-three7four6 your need your dealer number which is something like F21095 but just need the last 5 numbers when giving it over the phone. That hopefull the number will give you the info you need, it's an automated line, but you can ask for assistance and get intouch with a live operator.

OK - I called the number and I think I have some good information now. The June 7th date wasn't a "build week" date - it was a "submitted to the plant" date.

The automated system told me that I am scheduled for a build week of July 18th. Makes sense so I'm going to relax for a while now. I don't expect to see the car until sometime early in August.

The dealer still doesn't have access to that information. His screen still shows no "build week" date. I guess I know I've got to call the 800 number to get good and current information.

Thanks for your help.
