Back in VERY early September I and my son were coming back from a Mets game at Shea and a short visit w/family (BTW is was the Aug 30th game against Philly - last time the Mets were actually contenders... that's a whole different story).. Anyway... on our way back to Virginia Beach on the Jersey Turnpike (South Jersey around exit 4).. I was hauling hiney and doing an easy 90+... Then I saw the infamous patrol unit on the overpass. As I went under the overpass I knew I was toast when I saw the trooper pull onto the Turnpike. After a minute or so he was right on my keaster (I have now obviously slowed to 65 on the button). We continued like this, ohhhh I'd say another mile or two; then I got the flashing lights to pull over; of course which I did immediately. I get my son to hand me the registration and insurance card from the glove box, get it together with my license so I’m ready for the trooper… He approached the car from the passenger side and slightly leaned into the car through the now ready and waiting rolled down window and asked for the aforementioned items. “I clocked you going 85 back there, where are you headed in such a hurry?” I told him the truth and said, there is no real emergency and that we were just trying to get back home for my oldest son’s (pointing at him) last weekend home before he ships out to Navy boot camp (and then Nuclear Power ET school) and that the whole caper was a last fling before he left home I’m also ex-Navy and my wife is Retired Navy (20 years service) as well. I think the trooper noticed this too simply by observing my high and tight doo and the DoD base sticker for Naval Station Norfolk smack-dab in the middle of my windshield… The trooper then says “wait here – I’ll be back.”… After what seems like 15 minutes he come back and hands my license and registration back and says “ I’m issuing you a warning for excessive speed”.. My inner monologue is like- “Holy poop! – I just got away with one – this is a great day! YES!” Then comes part two – However, he continues, I’m going to site you for your license plate, the state (Virginia) is obstructed by your NY GIANTS license plate frame… Minor bummer in the grand scheme of things… I gladly accept the warning and the summons for the plate and thank the trooper and go about our way… I had to chuckle because I’m betting that if that were an EAGLES frame I’d of gotten off Scott-free!!!... Hah!... I’ll be sure to get my next ticket on the Turnpike further up the road (North) around exit 14… The point here is that not all law enforcement types are hard hineyes, this guy could have been a p ric k if he wanted to, but he chose not to … Here’s to you Mr. “Good Guy” trooper - “Cheers!”

General info for people in California: http://www.ticketassassin.com/

I have a buddy that has used them an astounding 8 times with 100% success. If I ever manage to hit the pedal a bit too hard infront of an officer, I'll be trying them out too.
This site ROCKS! Great stuff. Thanks! Bookmarked.
