I still love the style of those Fox body LX 5.0 coupes. They were badass.
I wish I could've gotten one, at the time, but I was a poor college student and drove a 1986 Pontiac Grand AM and later a 1989 Cavalier Z24.
I'd still like to get an LX 5.0 coupe, but its so hard to find one that hasn't been modded out already.
Somewhere out there, there's one sitting in some old geezer's garage that has less than 5,000 miles on the odo.
In Florida there a lot of retirees so hopefully I'll find it.

Well, I have one of those, too. Best of both worlds.

+1.
Those 1993 Cobras were sweet rides.
The only thing I wasn't really a fan of were the rims.
I thought that Ford should've put better looking ones, such as Bullitts, on them.
The 5-spoke pony rims on the 1991 - 1993 LXs and GTs were, IMO, the best looking OEM wheels for those Fox bodies.
I know there will be those who beg to differ, but again that's just my opinion.

I agree, but if you have an original cobra, you have to keep them, just to boast to others!

Mine was also a black 93 Cobra in which I had for over 11 years and not once did I ever experience any problems with it except for having to replace that stupid smog pump that froze up lol. but other than that ? That car was more reliable than any other car that I've ever owned.. and although I really enjoy my current 05 GT ? there's those moments in which I still miss my Cobra to this day and often wonder If I did the right thing by trading it in for my 05 GT

I'm not a fan of that design either, reminds me of the '71 - '72 Flatback Mustangs and not a look I'd like to see Ford replicate. Personally, I'd like to see Ford leave the current fastback roof line and rear quarter window treatment alone and concentrate on giving the car some curves in other areas like rear hips and redesigned front and rear fascias.

Although I'm a huge fan of the Fox Mustang coupe, I don't think Ford should spend their resources on a coupe version of the current car, I'd rather see the R&D dollars spent on the cosmetic changes mentioned above along with a properly engineered IRS.

There are no wrong decisions. You had fun with it, right? I want me a Cobra R! There was one on Ebay like 2-3 months ago that was 650 original miles. It was amazing! Window sticker and everything like it never left 1993. Red with the gloss black wheels. Oh if I only had the 65,000 dollars it sold for! LOL

I think that's the case. Kenny Brown made a few, and seemed to race them around the circuit. Other than that, and the appearance at SEMA there hasn't been any development. No news on it, new pictures. I think the health situation really knocked this out.

However, I have to say up close that car really is rough around the edges. I love the concept, and the original picture in black makes this thing one of the sexiest mustang's I've ever seen! But then you look at these pictures and go... uhg! That's it?!?

I love the front of the Giugiaro whatever-soprano mustang concept, but they need to change that back up. Imagine the front of it as it was, but adding the Kenny Brown rear end minus Type-R spoiler! That's a Mustang there!

No offense to anyone, but the Fox bodies were the ugliest mustangs ever made...

You seem to be missing two important factors..Those ugly Fox Mustang's you refer to were the longest lived generation in Mustang history beginning in 1979 and continued strong in sales right up to the very end of it's final production run in 1993 and were extremely popular as well..I'd say overall not bad for a car that you consider as the ugliest Mustang ever made and of course no offense taken..

You're definitely right Chris, there's no denying that I had lot's of fun with that car in addition to also sharing a lot of great memories through the years as well..I also took very good care of it and when I traded it in for my 05 GT ? it had only 32k original miles on it, so whoever the new lucky owner out there happens to be ? got one hell of a steal on it..and if only I could have afforded to keep both vehicles ? you better believe that I would had done so..

That's exactly the same point I brought up earlier..It definitely would look way too much like the 71-73 Flatback Stangs and thank goodness Ford plans on carrying over the current S-197 greenhouse on the 2010 re-fresh..

The foxes may not be the "best" looking of all the mustangs, but they are still awesome! I woldn't even trade mine for a brand new GT mustang or a Shelby GT-500, and mines a sad little 2.3L!
