How many lease a 2003-4 Cobra, get a 2006-7 Cobra first have been made?
This could affect availability of the new Cobras for those who are waiting when they come out. Who would have this info?...... If they only make 5k or less of these cars this could be an issue.

Inside info anyone?

I would imagine Ford wouldn't want Cobra production to decrease. Even if it did I wouldn't worry about it. I still see Cobra's sitting on the lot. I think if they want to move the cars they are going to have to discount them more.

Its buy an 04 now, get an 07 later.

I'm sure they would produce more if there was a problem with a shortage.

I just wonder if say, 2000 people go for the lease one now, get first dibs later, and they only make 4000 2007 Cobras, I might have to wait ANOTHER year. This to me seems like a unique situation.

I don't think that would happen. That would mean Ford would probably increase the price of the car to make up for the lost sales figures.

Exactly. They would just produce another 500 or 1000 or whatever # cars they needed.

They are definitely trying to get rid of the '04 Cobra. There is now a $3K rebate on them. It wouldn't surprise me if someone who was serious about buying one could get a dealer down to under $31K for a coupe.

From what has been mentioned in the past, its seems that Ford wants to move the Cobra 'upscale'. I assume that means in price as well. If they decide to price it say north of $40K, then I'm sure there will be less people buying them, also, I think that since it will be pricier, Ford will make a substantially less number of cars. Of the people that do get a lease on an 04 Cobra now, I'll bet that a fair number will sell their spots to highest bidder, since Ford said that could be done.

If it is over $40K then I probably won't get one. Did they really say upscale or were they talking about the performance being about where the M3 is?
