Who has considered a reproduction 69 Boss 429 scoop for their 05 mustang. It would look SO SICK!!!!!!!!!!

All jokes aside that is one sexy car.

I would think the actual Boss 429 scoop would look huge on the new car. Even though the new car is pretty big in it's own right.
A better choice might be the Cougar Eliminator scoop, which is really just a Boss 429 style scoop at about half the height.
I have often thought the Maverick Grabbers hood setup would look good on the new car. Very, very well done way to get a mild bulge in the hood and not look like another cowl-induction style hood. The scoops would most likely be fake, but I'd get over it.

Looked great on the Boss 429 35 years ago, would look dated and discordant on the new Mustang. Let's move the styling ball forward, not mired 35 yards back from the line of scrimmage.
Man, love that GT-R-esque body work. Now just strip off all those adolescent spoilers, scoops, slats wings, tape, ducts, vents glopping up those fine lines (I just don't get this lemming-like attaction to cheesy stick on ornamentation, like peacocks mesmerized by shiny things), paint it something other than Kermit Green and voila, I'll bet your close to the next SVT or perhaps a neo Boss style-wise.
PS There was an awesome '69 Boss 429 at the DC Auto Show VERY much like this one. There's probably still an ankle-deep puddle of drool where I was standing.

The '99 anniversary, and the slightly larger bullitt(and subsequent GT scoops) IS a copy of the old boss scoop.

Looks like nearly the same hood to me...close enough anyway.....I actually considered using one on mine after I do the hood blackout, but it's been done so much the last few years that it's kind of tired now....have to say it looks great in the pics though with the new body style....

When I am at a red light with a buddy in my Vette and see a kid dress down his car like that , we just laugh in his face and he feels like ( you know , "S---")

2 years ago i had the pleasure of seeing a yellow 70 boss 429 in person. I have yet to see a car in person that has even come close to its beauty. It and the rest of them will always be the greats. Sorry for no pics.

I am definetly going to get some flames and remarks for what I am about to say...but...
....I purchased the Legend Lime with the express idea that it could be made into a GT/MACH/BOSS look-alike. Not that I would ever try to put "Boss 302" on it or "Mach 1" badges. It would not be made to be a clone mach or fake boss...wouldn't do that!..but incorporate some of the coolest aspects...Here's what I mean...
OBTW..I was drinking one night when this popped into my head!!!...
1. Blacked out hood (or over the car boss stripes...see #5)
2. Back window slats (not side) Sides would be left alone o r body colored panels applied. (CDC show car)
3. Boss/Mach 1 rear spoiler (the current GT comes close)
4. Front matte black chin spoiler
5. Boss stripe (the thin-wide-thin one) or the 69 "C" stripe
6. Removeing the lexan shields over the front headlights (really looks 69'ish)
7. Rear honeycomb inserts between tailights (I measured and I think I can modigy a real set to work)...this is actually the first thing I looked about when I had this idea.
8. Modifiying a real 69' pop-off gas cap into a new trunk lock sorround. I work in a machine shop and this isn't actually that hard either. Have to take it apart until you had the center bezel...then machine a new mounting ring from steel (to be chromed) or aluminum (billet/polished/satin).
9. AND...the hoodscoop. I have looked at several different kinds and CDC is offering a shaker kit for the 05's (no price yet)...
It would look alot like the "Kermit Green" boss chop....but not as....cheesy? and not that green either...more like a '69 Ivy Gold Mach 1
Go ahead and insert flame here
