Black plastic clips at bottom of doors
Black plastic clips at bottom of doors
Does anyone know if the black plastic clips, about 1" long, located along the inner bottom of the doors should be removed? Are those holes meant for water drainage? etc... Should the clips stay in?
I don't know what they are for, perhaps some engineer thought he would put lights there. That would be pretty cool, instead of the reflector that is on the door.
Anyway, they get in the way when I wipeing the area with a towel.

I believe they are for water drianing just like on the fire wall about under each wiper motor, If I take it right so as the door does not fill up with water and rust ! and the two on the fire wall I am forever picking out pine needles from them.
I wish the reflecktor was a light but for saftey its good its there as when the door is open in the dark , it just may save your bacon.

to round out this debate... here's a link to a post suggesting plugs should stay in....

One day after I washed my car, while drying inside the doors I decided to pull those tabs. Water and a little bit of debris gushed out. I've had no problems with water build up ever since.
I just didn't like the fact that water may have been there for a while. Don't need the bottom of my doors rusting anytime soon.

I'm not pulling them out, maybe after washing but putting them right back in.
Well I just checked them and I have washed the car the past three nights in a row at the dealer. I absolutely FLOOD the panel joints and mirrors with water(the hose here is about 3 times the flow of a home hose) to flush rinse them completely and behind the plugs its dry as a bone. Mine have small drain holes in the plugs, and its not a water-tight seal to start with.
