Big Monthly Payment for you '05?
#1
As I continue to debate which to order, the V6 or GT, I was wondering, what kind of payments are other folks looking at paying?
The longest I have ever financed a car is 48 months and I don't plan on going any longer than that now, but man, you need a boatload of cash down to keep the payment around $400/month.
Anybody going to be shelling out a big monthly payment and long-term notes to get their dream car?
Anybody going to lease to keep the payment affordable?

I'll get doing 60 months at around $450 a month. I'll sell my old car myself and use the extra cash for other things.

I am confused on what to do also. I have a 95 probe GT that is a possible trade in, but it is my "winter car"(actually it's quite the nice car, nice paint, interior etc. not a "real" winter car....was planning on doing some things to it) so I don't know what I'll drive in the winter if I trade it in. I'll just have 2 mustangs sitting in my garage (which is not a bad thing)...unless I drive our Renault Le Car in the winter lol, that thing is a joke. Anyway I don't think i can afford a high payment so I would have to drop down a big down-payment, cause insurance ("incasance") is going to be high on the GT so putting a big payment down would leave me more money to pay it.
Sorry, I'm no help.

I estimate car payments at $20 per $1000 financed. I think this is based on 60 payments. Not sure what interest rate this works out to be, but it seems to be a QUICK way of estimating. So...finance $20,000, pay $400/month. And according to EleanorsMine, it looks like my estimation works relatively good.

Its allegedly $16.67 per 1k financed.
I was told that by the slime dealer locally. Probably FOS, but.....

$17.09 is 1%.
$17.53 is 2%.
$17.97 is 3%.
$18.42 is 4%.
$18.87 is 5%
$19.33 is 6%
Most people are probably looking at close to $500/month for a well equipped GT, depending on their credit.

The $16.67/k is for a 60 month, zero interest loan.
16.67 x 60 = 1000.2
Will Ford have zero for 60 deals on the new Mustang? I kinda doubt it, at least for the first few months. These deals are typically used to encourage sales. I don't think they will be necessary with the new Mustang. Then again, all the manufacturers have been giving rebates, incentives, low-to-no interest financing, maybe they will have to do it.

I got that quote for an 04 Gt I was looking into over @ Ernest. It was sweet, but it remained an 04....
Doesn't matter now, WW3 has started in my house- over a stupid car. :bang: Never promise me something then reneg on it. My car was a "nice" car till I told him he could have it......Now it isnt- go figure.
I guess I am going to have to go get a super job, and give up my cushy work from home part time one and buy the blasted car myself.

I just ran some numbers based on the GT I was looking at ordering.
It comes in near 28K with tax, license, etc., included. With $10K Down, 5% interest, it comes out to $453 for 48 months and $371 for 60 months.
As much as I don't want to go for 60 months, I may have to or go with the cheaper V6 to keep it under $400 a month.

I'd wait until the better deals are out
I'm waiting for the 0% financing and I'll use that with my A plan.
Traded my 99 Saturn SC2 for the V6 Mustang.. they gave me about $8500 for it, but I owed $3000 on the Saturn, so I think my down payment was $5000-ish. Then I got the 0% financing for 5 years and my A Plan... came to about $230 a month for my Mustang.
No way could I afford any more... so I'll be waiting. It'll be hard though
