Any reason the lower center insert doesn't have honeycomb in it?

The centre of the lower insert has no honeycomb in it because it is a full opening to allow air through the a/c condenser and rad.

Either end has honeycomb but it is completely closed off, not allowing air to pass through

When Dan and I met Hau Thai Tang he told us it was done to improve cooling. He also said it resulted in an improvement in drag co-efficient.

Don't base your choice on a picture alone. In a related note, I've seen all the colors in person on the new Stang and still can't make up my mind which looks best.

The reason bright cars get pulled over a lot is because the tracking devices the cops use like radar and lidar work better on bright and reflective colors. Cops can pick off bright cars with the guns further away since the radar/ lidar bounces back better giving you less time to slow down. Darker colors abosrb the radar/lidar making it harder for the cops to get a good read. No bright torch for me, black is looking good now. The full article about colors is on radartest.com.

Yeah, I know about the airflow. I'm talking about pass-thru honeycomb where currently there is NOTHING. See the 2 lower CENTER openings where I've added pass-thru honeycomb. I mean why put fake, blocked honeycomb in the outer two and a huge empty hole in the middle? Adding real honeycomb doesn't change airflow.

I agree. Chaz, why don't you patent it and start producing them. It'd be a 5 minute mod.

The extra honeycomb wouldn't change airflow much, but it is cheaper to build it like this.. guess that is the answer

I think you would be surprised how much airflow can change from little additions like honeycomb. The amount of air may not change much, but direction can be greatly affected - may even direct air flow AWAY from where it needs to go.

IMO I like the look of the extra honeycomb, but with my luck it would get broken during highway driving and I would have to replace it... $$

As for the Torch Red, my current 98 Vert is Rio Red (basically the same) and I love it - although the black hood stripe, top & chin spoiler tone it down a lot when you are up close. I would get Torch if it's offered on an SE with black stripes of some kind, but if I decide I can't wait for an SE then I'm stumped... I like most all the GT colors! :bang:

Speaking of red though, I have heard that police pull people over more often if they speed in a bright red car. Better yet, I've heard a bright red car and lead to an increase in insurance. This true? I really don't know match about that stuff. :P
The color of your vehicle doesn't affect insurance rates, at least not with mine, they don't even ask for the color.

I hope these new Reds hold the test of time. I was never a big fan of Ford reds, and they fade really bad after a few years.

Dan your right the red pic is the best yet. I think it could possibly have something to do with the blonde with the huge breasts in the background.

They Don't have to ask what color it is, :nono: All they need is the VIN #, and yes the Color of your Car Does affect Your Insurance Rate. My best Friend, Was an Insurance Agent for Progressive (He died in an accident over a year and a half ago) But he told me Red and Black Cars have the Highest Rates, and Yellow and White Cars have Lower Rates. But what really got me was when he told me that your Credit has the Biggest part in Determining your Insurance Rates.

It's a nice color but I feel it'll capture too much attention from la policia.
I know Kap'n, but man, everyone will be looking with a colour like that.

I've seen Torch Red Machs coming a mile away. I love that. I just have to pick my spots and try not to get pulled over. [/b][/quote]
everyone will be looking no matter what color it is- cuz its a MUSTANG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship:

Ford should definitely release the next Mach 1s in that color. Can you imagine it with a fat black hood stripe, hood scoop, black rear spoiler, and black front valance spoiler? Siiiick!

Anybody wanna photoshop that?

I heard that too. They say that is because they want to know what risk they are taking about your payments. Same as interest rates. If you are a high risk, they charge more. Its a money risk thing, not driving risk.
