I'll be using some Pennzoil Platinum for my next oil change. I stocked up at Advance Auto Parts a week ago, buy one get one free = $2.35qt. Can't beat that! And it's a very good oil as well, on par with Mobil1.

Well this should be an interesting thread. Oil is right up there with politics and religion. I'll bite...

I've used Mobil1 for about 25 years (or as long as it's been around anyway) with excellent results. It's all I use.

Dude,

As a Moderator I am not suppose to "blast" you for this question, HOWEVER, this subject is as old as dino sh@t.

Please search the forums for the numerous Q&A about this subject.

Thank you,

TDS

Of course, my answer would have to be REDLINE.

While I agree with you, I've found the search kind of sucks. I get WAY too many hits with tons of irrelavant posts. Even if I search a string in quotes the results are the same. I haven't dug into it, but I swear it includes results from posters' sigs. IDunno.

You can do an advanced search limiting hits to just the thread titles...

I use Mobil 1, German Castrol 0W-30, Pennzoil Platinum, and Redline. Since the OEMs are extending the oil change intervals to 7500 miles or more on semi-synthetic 5W-20, I'm not that worried about the oil. I buy whatever's on sale at the time.

Used Mobil 1 on a previous car with good results. Will likely use Motul on this car once i switch over at the next change. Right now I'm running regular dino oil.

C'mon guys. Any full synth is good and you can't tell the difference. Just keep the weight low, modular engine is a ***** for that.

Use Amsoil if you can get it. I use it in both my Lotus & Mini and my Mustang GT, whenever it comes in. Mobil 1 is a very close second. Stay away from most other so called synthetics 90% of them are Dino based with additives to give them synthetic properties.
