Best or Loudest Axleback Exhaust? No other mods

Can anyone tell me the loudest rumble I can make for only modding axleback exhaust?

SLP Loudmouths I think would be the popular consensus.

http://www.lmperformance.com/5535/73.html They have a before/after clip here.

Well personally i would do the bassani's if your looking for louder. You will have drone, then add on as you want it louder xpipe, hpipe, high flow cats, then some long tube headers. If you want an awesome loud sound I think you will like the bassani's or go with some cheaper loudmouths or something.

Bassani race mufflers sound like a V8 Ferrari. You'll probably get sick of any super-loud setup. Especially from cars that can beat you constantly wanting to race because of the sound. I'm getting the standard Bassani setup.

straight pipes!

get rid of those constrictive cats and go straight out. thatll wake up the neighbors in the mornin'

but seriously, ive heard the bassani race mufflers are probably the loudest. then again, to each his own. best bet is to either find someone with them installed and take a listen or look for clips of it online. they are out there, just google it

And since they are just basically strait pipes, they SCREAM.

The new MAC stainless steel axle back is a nice set-up. I have them on order now. They sound great from the outside, dont know about the inside.................yet!!!!!! The were only $329 right from MAC. I am sure they will drone, but I am going to try and step up and just deal with it. I mean it is a muscle car not a Honda civic.............right?

I just installed SLP loudmouths yesterday and the sound is very loud and deep. I've heard some cars in person with the bassani, and yes they do sound kinda ferrarish..however this is American muscle so i thought the slp loudmouths fit the car much better in my opinion.

I have the Macs and the catted prochamber. They are loud in the car and I almost decided I wanted to look for another sysytem until I had a friend drive my car and I got to hear it as I listened to it go down the street.

Macs sound great outside. I'll add some Dynomat to the inside, and happily live with any residual resonance.

I have yet to see a good write-up on the bassani standard SS exhaust. I had them on 3 other mustangs and I loved them, they more or less howled rather then droned at WOT, and were never really annoyingly loud. I'm going 'modern' on this car so I want it to sound a little exotic, but not mind-numbing. I can't wait until the club meets pick up so I can get some ears on different setups in person.

Are SLP loudmouths legal in CA? Asking because I don't want the hassle of getting pulled over and getting a fix it ticket.

ANY exhaust modification is illegal in the People's Republic of California.

If you are just looking for axlebacks and not any other h/x/headers, check out the regular Bassani's. They are louder than stock, but not crazy loud...great great tone. I love hearing them just driving around. Get on it, and they will roar!! In my opinion, what the car SHOULD sound like. Deep, growling, muscular...sounds like a big block under the hood.

My magnapacks are pretty nuts. I don't understand how anything could be louder as the mufflers are straight through.

I'm happy with my Imco exhaust axle backs. They are loud not sure what brand is the loudest but I'll been stopped and asked if I've put a big block in my 07 Mustang. The sound of power (drone) hits around 2000rpm but I like it. Their web site has a audio clip

Just axle-backs, then SLPs... after "that", then maybe Stingers. BUT, loudest doesn't necessarily mean best. You better do your research.

Most of these mufflers are straight thru I think, bassani race, borla race, ford racing, etc. You can look straight thru, baffles on side etc. Not the bigger square mufflers but the stingers are straight thru , are they glasspacked on the side, or just special baffles I dont know.

Loud is Not so much a concern but You Will find Certain Axlebacks Have a DRONE at a Set RPM That will drive you up a wall if you are Stuck in Traffic at that RPM.
