Wow, just heard from the dealer that I'm scheduled for build the week of 21 February. If one of the scheduling Gods can have it run through on the 23rd, man what a BD present that would be. It'd probably mean something really deep too - like karma.....like I was meant to have this car, destiny!

Hey Brad.....if you're reading.....can you phone someone about this??

I'm losin it aren't I??

Just read the morning paper.....a trainload of PT Cruisers went through the Detroit/Windsor tunnel yesterday. The PT's were in 3-tiered rail cars. The train tunnel isn't 3 tiers tall. A few of the PT's are half-way to becoming convertibles.

Moral of the story.....it ain't over till it's over Darthbob. I'll be waiting to hear from ya with fingers crossed. Today is Thursday. Who knows??

Hey DarthBob, congrats buddy!!!! When I got my VIN it was about the last week of January. The build date came within 2 weeks. I was skimming through some other posts and noticed 2 guys talking about their build date week - both of them were the same as mine and both of them ordered around the same time as me.

Anyways, I heard about 2 weeks between VIN and getting a build date, seems about right according to the above info. So........the race is still on I think. Sounds like it might even come down to the shipping and transit. ALLLLLL the way to Canada for me. Don't know where you are (if you're in Hawaii or Alaska, I think I'll claim the ribbon now), but otherwise......we'll see. Oops, hang on, looks like you're a Texan. Didn't see that before. Hmmmmm - Texas or Ontario. Could be a toss up still!

Talk to ya

The automated line says March 7th. I will check it again later in the week.
I cant decide on sequential lights or not...
Do you have pictures of the retro badging you are gonna use?
What are MT louvers? The back side windows?

When she gets here I have to install the mufflers, then tint & stripe her.

Well at least all this waiting has allowed me to save up for that stuff.

DarthBob - March 7th huh, well that gives me 2 weeks lead time. For the MRT louvers, go to:

http://www.mrt-direct.com

I've been buying a bunch of stuff too. Already got my stripes - '67 repro's in white - and GTA emblems from the '67 and a pair of running pony's to replace the "GT" emblems on the sides. Also, Mustang lettering for the rear deck. Finally, black Bullitt rims with spinners. Everything so far is Ford OEM or Ford reproduction - except the louvers. Gonna look pretty cool I think and man, am I looking forward to it. I'm going to Woodview Dashtrim tomorrow (they're about 30 minutes from me) to look in person at some of their dash stuff. Just a little wood trim (very light colored to match the parchment interior) around the radio and console might just be in order, nothing like the reems of aluminum and wood that I've seen on some of the posts. I want to keep things pretty subtle - but different from the rest of them out there.

Talk to ya, Mark.

Well aren't you just getting cockey! I see you've been snooping around the "quality check" topic. Worried about yours being pulled are we???? Those yellow ones just stick out you know....so I'm sure it'll grab the quality guy's attention.

I've just put a call into the dealer (we can't use the 1-800 # here) so I'll let you know if mine's changed. Otherwise, I'm uncrossing my fingers for you.

And PS - black calipers for you IMO. On mine, with the black Bullitts, I'm still not sure.

Talk to ya, Mark.

Im back in the race!!
:drive:

I was leaning toward yellow calipers....but if it didnt match
yellows then that would look bad. Would you even notice black
with the upgrade aluminum wheel?

Oh yeah, I forgot you had the upgrades, not as much "see through" on them. Well then, your only alternative is red. A buddy of mine has a new Boxster, silver blue, with the red calipers. It's a classy car and the red doesn't look out of place at all. Red is bold - but nice lookin. Unless you got the perfect yellow match, it probably wouldn't look right.

Later.....
