BBK is it worth it

ok here it is I am looking to buy my husband a BBK cold Air Intake. It is a suprise for him so I can't ask him what he thinks. I am limited on how much I can spend ($300) and I wanted to know if the BBK is worth the money.

Do you know if your husband has a tuner? He will need to change the tune to run a good cold air intake and if he doesnt have one already you probably wont be able to find the CAI and a tuner for that price.
P.S.

No,no,no,no.not worth it. Like said above. Do you have a tuner? If so, get a jlt and a tune. If no tuner, save another $80 and just get a tune for the stock vehicle. A tune will do itself more than just a cai w/no tune option. Save up some more and JLT 2 and sct xcal from brenspeed. BBK is expensive. Disappointing what they have come out with for our s197s.

JLT II is the best bang for the buck (and you can even get it color matched to his car) at about $200, but like was said before it has to have a tune in order to work.

Another option is the C&L Street intake with the no-tune insert. It costs about $60.00 more than you said you can spend, but it's a good quality piece with great reviews, requires no tune, and when he is ready to tune the car the no-tune insert can be easily removed.

Still another good option is the Airaid Intake (which is the exact same as the Roush, just lower priced because it doesn't say "Roush"). It is the same as the C&L in that it has gotten great reviews and has the no-tune insert that can be removed later. That one is about $330ish.

Hope that helps.

I would walk away from BBK unless this is what he wants, but you will need additional hardware to make this work.

I went to brenspeed.com and got him the SCt X-cal 2 2005/08 gt and I got him the C&L air intake ( I found out it was the one he wanted). I thought comming off 300 more dollars would be ok for our 4 year anniversary.

Got the BBK TB and CAIK, works great. Pushed in a 93 tune from my Diablo. 10 types of CAIK's and tunes gets you 12 opinions.

I don't know why everyone is saying to say away from the bbk cai. The guy's at breenspeed recommended it to me with my sct tuner and it works great. I'm not taking anything away from the JLT but the bbk looks much better imo, and is made out of much better material.
