battery drain
Hello, i ve noticed a problem on my car !!
If i dont start the car every 3,4 day the battery is drained all the way. Nothing , no power it all. I just replaced the battery and still the same problem. I ve read the internet and some other owners have the same problem but nobody gave any soultion, except using a charger all the time.
HAVE ANYBODY A SOLUTION ON THIS !
THANK YOU !!

Probably the Shaker issue that Gravydog described, or a weak battery.
One step short of pulling the fuse is to make sure you turn off the radio before you shut off the car. This will help in some cases.
These cars do have a small drain (miliamps) all the time and they will kill a weak battery.
I had exactly the problem you described; had my battery tested and it tested OK . . . had the system checked by local shop and they confirmed the very low draw, within spec . . . replaced the battery with a new one, and it is fine now. I can leave it sitting for at least two weeks and it still fires right up.

This topic has been beaten to death time and time again.. Consider using the search function, as you'll find very valuable info about this topic addressed in previous threads..

I'll tell ya...... these modern cars.......they frustrate me with things like this.
I just got back from vacation for almost 2 weeks. Because of being aware that these machines DO draw on a battery, before I left I uncovered the car and started the engine and let my 05 v6 charge up the battery fully by idling for about a half hour.
We really shouldn't have to be worried about stuff like this.
On my 2004 Lincoln LS, I charged up the battery and DISCONNECTED the cable before I left, because IT has even MORE draw than the mustang, with its heated windshield where wipers sit and who knows what else.
I don't like it. don-ohio (:^)

Reminds me of the Lincoln LS
The LS needs the Ford alternator, and seems to work way better with it. The reason is the PCM has a lot to do with it. DON'T know if this is true of the Mustangs, but sounds feasible.
Well,I searched...........I guess I better break that new Battery tender out of the package! Thanks, m05! don-ohio (:^)

Late, but I figured maybe I'd post this in case it helped out OP, or anyone else.

Look for my post, #70, in that thread. That describes what I feel is needed to help solve the issue. It's been about 4 years since I did all that mess, and *all* my charging/battery issues have gone away. Terminals look the same as when I did all that, and I've not done *one* thing to it since.
I forgot to mention in that post: Your battery can drain itself by being shorted out across the terminals. Dirty battery, acid vapors, and the current just flows between them. This causes the alternator to work harder as the battery slowly dies off, and then you're replacing both.
The washers and dielectric grease will prevent contamination from being a problem, but only if you slather it all over them terminals as I describe. The rest was an exercise in getting the entire area cleaned of any acid/corrosion/contamination, because one of those batteries vapors ate my firewall paint, dammit. :/ BBQ paint happened, and I will do the whole engine compartment one day, it looks pretty good still.
Anyway. If it helps. The CD thing would definitely do it too, as would any active electrical thing in the car.

Yeah ! And if everybody used the search function like they should be doing in the first place, they would know that mostly everybody on this site has known about the battery and CD issues for well over 10 years

The point is, you've been a member on this site for well over 2 years now, so start showing it by using some common sense.. You're not a newbie anymore !

I pulled out the shaker 1000 for repair and the problem is gone !!
Now, i like the look with original equipment (shaker 1000) and i really hope can be repaired. Radio works fine but cd unit is not working.
If the unit can be repaired am i still gonna have draining issues ?
I bought the car like this so i dont know how was it before...
If cant be repaired there is a good aftermarket replacement ?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!!
Your help saved me a lot of trouble and money !!
