Please don't use that as an excuse. I was born in the 1950s also.

So, back to the problem and solution -- the simple and cheap solution to the battery drain problem, is to pull the fuse on the radio. Shazam! no more battery drain, and no more radio.

But radios and mustangs are luxuries anyway, we can certainly live without them if we have budget problems.

And you can probably turn up the volume on the i-Phone . . . . hmmmm, or maybe get rid of the i-Phone and use that money to buy a new radio . . . . but I digress . . . .

and yeah I guess I am showing my age too, I remember being able to survive without a fancy CD-changer and with no phone in the car at all.

I don't think you can remove just the CD changer.. IIRC the CD changer and radio are integrated into the head unit.. Either you'll have to pull the fuse when the car is not in use or uninstall the entire head unit and install an aftermarket unit..

I was looking for instructions for removing the player, but I haven't seen anything yet.
lol I haven't even had a cd since i was like 10 lol
Just pull the fuse whenever your car is not being used.. That way you won't go through the hassle of ending up with another drained battery..

Then just put the fuse back in when ready to take your car back out.. Problem solved

This would seem to be your best option IMHO

Customer satisfaction program would be nice.... In a perfect world, lol. Mine will go about 3-4 weeks until it dies, radio off. Any longer than 2 weeks I usually leave my battery tender plugged in. Works perfect over winter. Come spring she fires right up.
