Well guess what guys, I get the call that my Tungsten GT is coming in 10/22/05 ... and guess what else  somehow all of the sudden the sales mangaer is not going to honor x-plan pricing that was agreed on with my salesman. Here is the thing... I called them up like 5 days ago to see how the car was coming along. I ask for my salesman by name and the operator says he is no longer with the company, and right there I knew it was going south. Well it turns out the salesman left that dealership to be some kind of an independent broker for Ford with multiple dealers. I really have no idea what that means, but it does mean that he is still loosely affilitated with the deal. Bottom line... he tells me the manager is going to still give me a good deal by givig me MSRP. My once salesman says to me it's only like an extra $1600 or so... and I'm like yeah $1600... thats a lot! Any suggestions? It sound like I'm just going to have to tell them to go .... themselves and find another dealership locally or go with Ed (ISELLFORD) Just had to share my anger with my fellow TMS members, I knew yall would understand.

That sucks.
I dealt with the manger direct.
Guess it shows that an oral contract is worth the paper it’s written on.

My dealer just got a GT that was ordered on X-plan, and the deal fell through.
Want it?

I'm really specific on what I want, so unless it matches exactly with what I ordered I'm just going to wait.

Question

Sorry about the deal going bad. But there are some great guys here that can help. If only Ford would put a lid on this. I guest it happens when the demand is there! Keep the faith!
Happy Trails!!! :nono:

No buyer's order with x-plan price signed by the manager, no x-plan. The salesperson's promise of x-plan is meaningless without it.

Sorry they played that game with you.

Ernie, if Jerrod doesn't have a signed buyers order with his and a manager's signature, with the X-Plan price listed, then there is nothing the BBB can do. This is why I always stress to people on here that place an order, be it A,X,Z plan, or any discounted price, to get a signed copy of a buyers order with the price listed. Having a VOC (Vehicle Order Confirmation) is NOT a contract, rather just a copy of how the car will be ordered. With having a signed buyers order, there would be a 0% chance the dealer can back out of the deal, the MUST honor it, if it's signed. Dealerships that do this is what gives the whole auto sales profession in general a bad name . Jarrod, I'm sorry to hear how bad that dealer treated you, and hope things work out for the best.

"If" ---- He has not told us whether he has one or not. Either way the dealers don't like to have a big file at the Better buisness bureau. That is why I told him to take a copy to the dealer first!
He wants to do something, do you have a better idea?

Did you put a deposit down? Have anything on paper? I too was worried about my dealership not honoring the X-Plan, and kept all correspondence (e-mail's) between myself and the Internet sales manager as records. But luckily, they made it the best car buying experience I've ever had.

Do you have your VOC?? If it was ordered as x-plan, it will say "Order Type: X". The VOC will also have your last name on it. The VOC implies that they ordered a car specifically for you under X-plan.

Okay guys this is what I have. My Vehicle Order Confirmation that gives the break down of exactly what I ordered. It has my last name and it says order type: X Price Level. I did not have the sales manager sign the copy. I asked the salesman specifically when I was there about getting something signed and he assured me repeatedly that they do x-plan on GT's all the time and that this was no big deal. I also put a deposit down of $500 but the deposit does not say anything regarding x-plan. I feel like such an idiot now. Thanx for the responses and advice. I am going to have a face to face witht the manager for sure and am going to tell him about my intentions with the BBB and someon at Ford.

I would immediately arrange a meeting with the owner of the dealership, and bring your VOC.

Ford reimburses the dealer on X-plan deals, so maybe thay won't make an extra $500. What this manager is telling you is BS.

Stick to your guns and don't back-off!

The fact that the Manager is the owner's son may not mean anything. Doesn't mean the owner knows what's happening or that he approves of it. I would still arrange a meeting with the owner and take the VOC with me along with a copy of the letter to the BBB.

Get your deposit back and go to another Dealer!

Oh yeah don't put a deposit down!

If you absolutly have to put a deposit down tell them you want "X-Plan" in writing. And you want the deposit to be refundable.

Remember they will not lose money if you walk out on a deal they will just sell the car the next day! So there is no reason to just give them your money for nothing.

I was just looking at my receipt and it does say the order number on it that matches the order number on my VOC. Maybe that will help. I'm just going to wait till the car comes in on 10/22/05. By the way my old salesman told me the x-plan price was going to be somewhere in the 26k range just 2 days ago, however my price on the VOC say $25,500. Could it change that much in 2 1/2 months? I ordered it on Aug, 9th.
