its like an $80 add on from ford accessories. Anyone get it? I am thinking about it. Is it easy to install? I dont like the daytime running lights, burt the nighttime autos would be nice. Where does the sensor get mounted?

I went to the Ford accessories site, but I did not find auto lights listed for the Mustang. Where did you see them?

Didn't see it listed under Mustang. Thanks!

Well, I didn't see any '05 mustangs on there. Don't know if it makes a difference. Also, I couldn't download or even order a catalog from that page.

Try the pulldown lists. Select "2005" in the Year list and "Mustang" is in the Style list.

You can also select a 2005 escort zx2 or windstar neither of wich exist.

I'm not convinced that the information on the site is correct. Before you order anything check it out - especially the return policy. I ordered a Ford designed and manufactured daytime running lights for a 2002 Focus (from a Ford dealer!) and the the Ford dealer that I went to for installation could not do it.

The guy said he could find Mustang anywhere. I was just telling him where to find it. I'm not vouching that the info is correct so just relax.

At any rate, it you look at this page:

http://www.fordaccessories.com/dept....5Fid=73&dept=9

It specifically says "Mustang Accessories > Mustang Interior and Safety Acc." and lists the automatically headlamps. What it doesn't state is which MY.

Actually, I found Mustangs in general with no problem but didn't see any '05 Mustangs. Since it's a new body style, I'd hesitate to order parts under a "generic" mustang heading.

Thanks for looking though!

I never bother using autolamps. I usually run with headlights on all the time. Its a waste of money IMHO, you get bored with it in a day and not bother using it. I also have no idea how they would all of a sudden just 'work' with an 80 buck part.

I had autolamps in my '95 SHO. It has a light sensor on the top of dash near the windshield. When the light level dropped low enough, they would come on. You could disable it by turning the headlight switch to the off position. It also had a delay switch so that you could set the delay for how long the lights would remain on after turning the car off (kinda of nice when you pull into a dark garage for instance). Personally, I liked the feature and would love to have it again.
