Hello all, just joined - we're looking at ordering a GT soon for my wife and she'll be autocrossing it with me in my RX7. I just started researching the aftermarket for this car today, and it looks like initially I'll be getting the Eibach Pro Kit for the car, I was wondering if anyone has done any autocross with this setup and how the car feels.

Also curious as to how the stock alignment setup does. I'm guessing if you want more neg camber at the front I'll need a camber kit, something i'm unfamiliar with with my car, anyone using that either? I'm excited to run the car myself too, I think it'll be an interesting switch to jump from a turbo car with low torque to a high torque car on course

Also, (because I'm too lazy to look up classing) what is the stock class for the GT?

There was a topic I read yesterday where a guy did pretty well in an autocross. Might want to talk to the topic starter.

Going for my first Autocross ever on Sunday with my Screamer. Can't help you with the Eibach question, but interested to hear from others that actually run theirs on the track.

Please post another topic when you have some comparison between the GT and the RX...

Good luck at your first event, you'll be hooked after your first run

I'll definitely post my comparison thoughts after we get the car. (whenever that is)

I am heading to my second event of the season on this Saturday. Unfortunatly the forcast is for rain. They run the event rain or shine, so I will go anyway, I will just have to pucker up a bit more! As stated in the post link from earlier, thestock suspension is good. There is a lot of nose dive under hard braking, so I would suspect a good set of lowering springs will help a lot. The panhard rod makes a huge difference compared to previous Mustangs.

Man, be prepared to have fun!

Here's a few pics of mine at our first event. I ran the car completely stock at this event to get a baseline. Even with the all-season tires it handles very well. I can't wait for the next event when the R-compound tires go on.

Thanks for the input guys, f0rd your car looks good on course! The Mustang probably won't see R compound for a while since my wife hasn't autocrossed before, but I will be putting the Eibach kit on. I'll have to look into what class that will put the car into.

Did you run your baseline with the TCS on or off out of curiosity?
